  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Exhaust Tips

2012' exhaust tips / bumper

I've been wanting to convert to 12' tails and bumper and was wondering if anyone has done this yet? Not really exhaust tips but didn't want to create a new thread for this.

Found this link 12' retrofit but not much info only pics. Looks like all they did is install both tails and bumper. Cut old tips off and that was it.

i was wanting to do the same, do a full '12+ conversion. Wondering if the cost would be even worth it. I want to start first with '12+ side skirts, and then the back end. Anyone know where to buy body parts for cheap?

I don't understand this...I mean, I know we all have different tastes, but to me, the new sedans look cheaper than the 2009 to 2011's.
I think my 2009, hands down, looks way better than the 2012's.
That's partly why I'm not getting a 12 or 13 R-Spec.....I considered it, but can't pull the trigger.

I feel exact opposite, lol. I feel like the prev body style looks like the older sonatas. I prefer the new body style, seems more expensive and sportier. I love the integrated exhaust tips and the new headlights/taillights. Also the new side skirts give better lines and sportier look. Dont get me wrong, i love the older body still, and the car stands out where ever i go, but i wish i bought a 12, but now i rather wait for the 14.

I agree, the 2012s do not have chrome interior door handles, the exterior trim on the 2012 windows is not chrome(its aluminum color), the exhaust tips in the bumper are fake and not really part of the exhaust, and I like the old rocker panel molding better. But, I do like the 2012 headlights.

The exhaust tips are integrated into the bumper. Nothing new. Look at most other high end car makers. I believe Lexus was the first with that design back when the IS-F was released. The satin finished window moldings are just a different style.

In my opinion, the 2012 is a tad better, style wise, and is why I bought it.

IMHO, I love the '12 front and rear bumper. Hate the headlights and love the tails. I would love to do a '12 rear end conversion only

i saw these on garcia garage fb page.....this is a whole muffler instead of tips.

That looks too big and gaudy.

The integrated tips into the bumper make it look more luxurious like a LS460 or Equus. Figured there would be mixed feelings on this conversion but I plan on doing it. If anyone pulls the trigger before me let me know how it goes. Should be simple install. Might be harder to source the parts for a good price.

You dont like the LED strip in the headlights? IMO it looks more aggressive. But thats why its an opinion.

I would if they didn't have it running like a down syndrome child through the entire headlight being obvious and obnoxious with no real function.

IMHO, let Audi have their LED DRL's back. Everyone should stop failing at attempting to copy them.

^and this is the reason I do not like LED's in headlights at all. Kinda generic now days...............
