  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2012 has a slight musty odor when running ventilation. Was perfect for the last 4 months, then sat at dealer for 4 days. I drove it home, and after it sat for two weeks, I noticed a musty smell.

Dealer says Hyundai has an evaporator cleaning kit that they use to spray on the core to kill any "stuff".

Has anyone used this product, and installed it?

Would love to see a writeup of the procedure and / or pictures.

That will certainly take care of the odor, thanks!

I'd really like to get at the root cause-the mold / mildew on the evaporator core. Dealer said $100 and leave car there 2 days so they can apply the coil cleaner, and look for any other issues.

This is NOT a warranty or adjustment repair that is provided by Hyundai. Problem I have is that it is an extra 200 miles of chasing and 1/2 day of work.

I'd like to know if anyone has cleaned the coil with the Hyundai kit that is made for this purpose. I don't have the part #. I am wondering if I can apply the foam through the drain line, and then rinse it....

For price you paid for the Equus, this service should be complimentary.

Agreed....but the dealer says it is not a manufacturing defect. And, they didn't sell me the car.....so there's no skin in the game.

I'll remember this when I'm in the market for my next car, though!

Funny thing is, until I visited the dealer and the car sat in their shop for 4 days, I never had this issue.
