  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Differences between 2012 and 2013?

One thing has likely changed. As I write this I'm sitting in the showroom floor looking at a Signature model that gets 15/23 mpg, per the window sticker. I imagine that the '12 had higher numbers on the window. No thank you, V8.

Nope, the 2012 had the identical numbers. Same engine, same numbers. Not great, but pretty decent on the highway.

Ok, now I'm really confused. Equus33 says the 2013 does lower when the engine is turned off. Mine does not and Vasy has a friend whose does not.

Equus33 says the 2012 Signature does not have rear window side shades and a magazine reviewer (I think this is on a different thread) says the 2012 Signature does have the side shades. I questioned it at the time it was posted and was told that the 2012 does in fact have the rear side shades.

Is there anyone with a 2012 Signature who can tell me if it has rear side shades. Is it possible that some do and some don't?

Is it possible that a different manufacture date has unanounced small changes? Is it possible that Equus33 had a 2012 loaner not a 2013?

My personal car is a 2012 Signature and does not have rear side shades, only a rear shade. My loaner was most definitely a 2013 Signature and it also did not have rear side shades, only a rear shade. The 2012 Equus promotional booklet has a chart for 2012s - both models and it indicates side shades only in the Ultimate. That same chart is online at their website for the 2013 model year. I do remember the 2011 I first looked at had side shades in the rear and on the rear sides.

As for the car lowering itself - I can not explain the differences in the 2013s not lowering itself. The 2013 loaner visibly and audibly did so and the dealer told me it would. I hope that helps. No matter what, I am still loving this car.:)

Differences between 2012 and 2013-SEATS?

My dealer told me that the 2013 seat leather was different than the 2012.

The rear sunshade is standard on both models for all years. The rear side sunshades were standard for all models in 2011, but only on Ultimate models for 2012 and 2013.

For 2013, the Adaptive Cruise Control has also been improved to increase accident mitigation. Basically, this increased ACC brake input substantially in the event a vehicle in front slams on the brakes.

No other significant changes.
