Does the 2011 Equus include remote start?

Additionally, anyone put mud guards on their Equus, any pictures to share?

Thank you.

I thought that Equus owners didn't ever have to drive in mud, and didn't ever have to use the restroom either. I am crushed. I no longer have anything to aspire to in life.

Well, assuming my sales person is correct: Hyundai Equus does not include remote start

It has a heated steering wheel, it has adaptive cruise control, four zone temperature, it has heated seats, cooled seats, power seats, massaging seats, power foot rest seats, sun shade in the back, two on the sides, and a refrigerator to keep ur drinks nice and cold... but no remote start.

BTW I just bought one this weekend. Like an idiot, i assumed it had it, honestly, I probably would not have bought it if I knew that it did not include remote start. I half blame that idiot on YouTube... "Hi everyone! How's it going. Today? I am going to do complete review of the blah blah blah."... "So let's start it up..." Dumb Dumb holds up his hand, with remote in it, pushes the button twice, and the car appears to start... ooo wait, did u watch that closely? He cuts away just as you THINK the car just started... he just UNLOCKED THE DOORS, and because he is a tool to his own video format, cut away just as the engine is suppose to start. "Does it have remote start?" "Of course it does, even the guy on YouTube did it..."

Before you freak out, I have a good reason for wanting remote start.

My 2011 Dodge Charger RT/MAX Hemi, a car that costs $26,000 less, can do it. My wife's 2012 Hyundai Sonata can do it... Almost wishing I didnt trade in the Charger for the Equus.

Anyways... when remote starting the Charger, if it is cold out, and I live in MN, it is always fricken cold out.. except today, it was 96 degrees, 10 days ago I was snow blowing a foot of snow, I am not kidding... the Charger will turn on the heated steering wheel, heated seats, and of course warm up the engine and turn up the heat... SORRY, super fancy new Equus will NEVER do that, I can pay $600 to put in a aftermarket, push button friendly, remote start... but that will only start the engine, nothing else, and i have second lame remote next the the one i already have, that sucks, when u went a year with a cheaper car that was always warm and toasty, now ur new 'better' car, is cold morning after morning... LAME

I guess I should of known, I owned a 2010 er something Genesis, I knew it didnt have remote start, but didnt realize how expensive it was to add to it... never did. Makes sense that Equus wouldnt have it either.

Anyone wanna buy a brand-new 2011 Hyundai Equus Ultimate for $43,000?

Otherwise, the car is growing on me. But I am having a little BR

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
$600 doesn't sound unreasonable to me. I wonder what Mercedes charges for that as a stand-alone factory option?

I suspect that most luxury car owners (including Equus) have an attached or heated garage if they live in cold weather, so probably not a big deal for most owners. Last time I lived in cold weather, I had a single car attached garage even for the 3 different rental apartments I occupied. It's the only way to live in cold weather IMO.

I do have a 3-car attached garage. However when it is literally -20 out, unless you really are heating your garage, its gonna be cold.

And I would like to point out that the Equus is fancy, and competes with the big dogs, but that doesn't mean everyone who owns one somehow hangs out with Bill Gates.

I bought mine for approx. $43,000. Dodge Duranges and GMC Envoys go for that much. Yes I make a few dollars, but im not in a different class. I still mow my own lawn, and my house is not fancy. Plenty of people driving around in $40k cars.

Maybe we mean different things by "attached." I mean that there is usually living space above the garage on on at least one side of the garage, so some heat from the home makes into the garage. If the car is in the garage, I can't see how you could remote start it, and even having that capability could be dangerous if started by accident when the car is in a closed garage.

I think that with 0W-20 oil (synthetic preferred) the car should start OK, and the heated seats and steering wheel should help. But I will have to admit that I turned down a job in MN because it is just too cold for me (and I was already living in a fairly cold place at the time).

Step 1 - Get an extra remote so you can open your garage door from inside the house.

Step 2 - Remote - Start car before you take ur shower. Happy to say I can do both from laying in bed, how sweet is that.

WHOOOOPS - No I can't not with my fancy new Equus, that was the old cruddy charger that could do that.

Yeah, if you live in MN like I do, when it's 4:30 am and its -30 degrees out, I don't care what kind of garage you have, your car is FROZEN.

Think about that, every piece, the door panel, the seats, the bumper, the radio knob, and of course everything in the engine, is FROZEN.

Remote starter= MUST especially if you would like to extend the life of your car, imagine firing up your car, and immediately throwing it into gear, corners, braking... nothing like stressing the hell out of frozen pieces of metal and who knows what else. Plus, it is always a good idea to let your engine warm up a little, after all, 30 seconds ago it was a frozen hunk of iron/aluminum... now you want it to vibrate at 5000 RPMs... For god sake, REMOTE START! :)

Amen!

You act as if Hyundai has somehow wronged you. Grow up. If you want your Charger back as opposed to an Equus simply because of a remote start (or the lack of it), it doesn't take a company fanboy to tell you you're being a melodramatic drama queen. I realize it's an important feature to you (I have a turbo timer in my other car for something similar), however surely you realize this is a huge childish rant for such a small detail.

I was also shocked to find out my Genesis did not have this feature... I simply assumed that it did.. Like I assumed that I could pop my trunk from inside the car.

This feature comes on car that are way less expensive...

I agree that in a cold climate it is very nice....

Not sure.if you're being facetious. I''ve got a 2010 Genesis and the trunk switch on the door works just fine.

Yes... I know it has the pop from inside trunk button.. When I test drove the car I did not look for this feature however as I assumed (correctly) that the car had it. I also assumed (incorrectly) that the car had remote start, as any car in this price range should.

LOL childish rant? We are in a fanboy computer forum talking about our cars, how much more childish for adults can it get? Where the hell else would I let out my little rant? Bah... It IS a big deal. Clearly you do not work in a place where it can regularly get -20 degrees cold every morning. Not gonna pay top dollar to freeze my ass off for the next 4 years every morning, cause I need to not be 'childish'. You be the adult and freeze ur ass off for the next 4 years, me, Im finding a car that can be remote started without having to contact NASA to have it rewired. Besides that, if you have read this far, we are both childish... entertainment provided!!! hah!

Same here.. Wish it had remote start too... But im at the other end of the temperature spectrum... 6-7 months of 95-110 degree summer heat is murder on me gettung into car after work and such... Scolding hot steering wheel and seats!!! Wondering how much a temote start would cost to be installed??

Is it even an option on the Genesis or Equus?

No! I have top of the line Tech Package in my Genesis... This is why I was a bit pissed to find out it did not have it. I still love the car, but they have left a few things out that should have been obvious inclusions.

Agreed.... Has anyone here added remote start to their genesis?

I can remote start my Genesis with BlueLink - but it certainly comes at a price.

How exactly does that work and what kinda price are we talking about friend?
