  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Here's your opportunity to tell Hyundai what you feel could be improved in regards to the Hyundai Equus.

Ready? Set? Go!

A2DP audio.
Automatic door closers.
Blind spot detection/alert systtem.
Lumbar support for the front seat passenger.
More leg room in rear--make the trunk a bit smaller if necessary to increase the interior leg room.
Internet functionality for downloading destinations, etc.
Hard drive space devoted to music.
A rewind/replay feature for radio, ala some Cadillac/GM models.

Even without these, though, I'm quite impressed with the car thus far. My wife agrees that it's the most comfortable car she's ever ridden in.

It's impossible to keep clean (Black/Black) in this Chicago winter!
Other than that, too early for this question. Less than a 100 miles so far, though I am going for a 200 mile drive today to put it through it's paces.
Stay tuned!

I would like a way to disable the controls in the back seat. Little kids cant keep there hands off them.

Waltondc I have gone through the system setup menu as well as the owners manual and can not find anything. Can you give me some instruction on how to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

There isn't enough storage nooks that driver can reach; the navigation system is very bad, almost useless compared to Garmin or TomTom - other than that I love my Equus

Equus 1. I have the Ultimate. I think yours should be the same, if so. Go to Info/Phone then, Car Setting, RSE Lock, and turn it to " On". Hope this helps. Sorry about before, I think I said Sys/setting.

Waltondc thank you for the answer.

Terrible driver seat. Bizarre support rails or seam or something right against my bottom.
No other car I ever had hurts like this. It seems Hyundai designed it for 120lb/ 5' koreans
and forgot normal Americans. If Hyundai can't generate a fix, I am going to get rid of the car. I have 4 other cars right now that all feel normal; this Equus has defective designed seats. I can't figure it out. There is something wrong with these front seats. I will be damned if I am putting a cushion on the seat of a $60,000 car!

I'm 6'2", 165 pounds and find the driver's seat the most comfortable I've ever had. More comfortable than the Genesis. I like the way the seat can be made larger or smaller (for those that don't know- the seat bottom slides in and out allowing you to expose more or less of the seat bottom in front of the seat back.) The front passenger seat is the same a the Genesis driver's and passenger seat (one size for all.) I think the driver's seat can be made at least 4 inches larger.

Have you tried making the lumbar support firmer? That should push you farther forward and alter your position on the seat.

Screen does NOT dim with the interior light dimmer, stupid.

Back speakers are chrome and reflect in window.

Steering wheel should be all leather, the wood gets so hot in the summer that you can not touch it.

A/C/heating starts on full blast when car is turned on? Why?

That's all.

Fuel mileage resetting after each refuel. Can't get used to it. It should be owner option when to reset the fuel mileage.

You got lots of problems in the car. But there are lots of positive aspects which still favors the car:cool::cool:

I actually like that feature, but I do see your point. It shouldn't be that difficult for Hyundai to have continual fuel mileage, that can be reset, as well as a read out that resets from each refueling.

The only thing I can think of that I don't like is the parking warning beep. It isn't loud enough. When I got an oil change and had a 2013 Genesis loaner I could barely hear it either. I think my 2009 Genesis was louder.
I asked if it could be made louder the answer was "no".

Wish the genesis had an option to auto lock after a few minutes when I walk away from the car. My Civic had this.

I tried changing the settings and its not an available option. I also asked my dealer to change it via their computer, and they said its not possible. Seems like a simple and easy option to me.

Generally, I love the car, but there are a few rough edges:

1) Seat leather stretch
2) Radar Cruise-no way to turn it off!
3) Braking when using cruise; I've adapted by turning the cruise off when descending hills. I want to conserve my brake linings. Drivers following must think they're following a Buick.....except the left turn signal isn't flashing!
4) Navigation-should be able to select city before street

What I don't like is waiting for the 2014 MY to get to the dealers!
Kidding, I think they'll be there sometime this month.
Already ordered a brown one after 5 consecutive black cars. Either I'm getting boring in my old age, or smarter in color choices for a car that bakes at the train station for 11 hours a day.
It must be the latter.
:p
