  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

the glovebox on my 2011 hyundai genesis sedan sometimes won't open. Has anyone had a similar problem? solution?

My 2009 had that same problem My 2013 no problems with that.

I have the same issue with my glove box with my 2011 4.6. I try several times until it opens.

There plastic latch pins on both sides of the door that latch into holes in the dash. I used a little silicone black tire spray for a lubricant on the door pins and holes and the door has been working for 3 years now (93K miles), Hope this helps. If this had not worked I was going to take a nail file and file off about 1/16" on both pins.

Thanks, Homeofstone. I managed to get it open by "wiggling" and have sprayed the pins with WD40. I hope that solves it. Time will tell!

Over time wd40 will wear off. silicone lube will last longer on the plastic.
