• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So besides unavi theres no real options as far as an aftermarket headunit?

Wouldn't mind adding a nice double din alpine or such.

There really is nothing in the aftermarket that is designed for the Genesis Sedan except for UNAVI that will keep all of your OEM features like (XM, Bluetooth, Steering Wheel Controls, AC Controls etc, etc) will keeping a factory look to your dash to boot and that is plug-n-play! Oh and you don't have the relocate your AC Controls to the glove box, your control the AC functions via the beautiful 8" High Def Screen!

We are running a very good promotion at the moment that includes a FREE backup camera (savings of $199) and also includes FREE Shipping (savings of $20-35). If your interested please PM us for pricing and ordering instructions

David thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I should be ordering mine next week, I'll call you tomorrow to discuss. Thank you for your help, in answering my questions today.

I have to give David from carlighttends.com four stars, he has been very helpful in answering all my questions and has taken the time to explain to me over the phone. He is very good with customer service, and very knowable in regards to the UNAVI system.

Oh hell yea, do a how to if you got the time, that would be awesome.

Is there any way I can hook up Separate subs an amp with keeping the head unit an sub also

Absolutely you can do any type of Audio Configuration when using the UNAVI Navigation System.

We got word that UNAVI is running an end of the month inventory blowout sale, the pricing is so low that we are not allowed to publicly post it. PM me for the details. This sale does not on the June 30th and will never be this low ever again, if you have been on the fence and looking for a amazing deal this is it!

Attention Hyundai Engineers, buy top of the line Alpine, Kenwood, Sony JVC-whatever-look at all the best features of all the high end units and integrate them into a unit for the Genesis.

  1. Hyundai does not manufacturer audio systems. They sub-contract that out to suppliers. For Genesis, they use Harman International which owns the Harman/Kardon, Infinity, JBL, Lexicon, Mark Levinson, and other brands that you see in many different cars.
  2. Harmon is the world’s largest car audio and infotainment manufacturer, with the largest global audio research and development team. Here are some of the automobile brands that use Harmon systems: http://www.harman.com/EN-US/Solutions/Home/Pages/AutomotiveBrandedAudio.aspx
  3. Automakers no longer use DIN or Double DIN audio configuration, because they want you to pay them for audio upgrade packages (often part of bigger package with other stuff) so they can make more money instead of the after-market companies making the money on audio upgrades. Every auto maker does this now.

Its certainly a lot more complicated than that, and far less self serving. Most consumers enjoy having more information about their car on their infotainment screens, including climate data (interior settings, external temperature), as well as incorporating many functions between the steering wheel, buttons on the dash, and buttons on the console. The reality is that high-end cars have really advanced specialized electronics that you can't just switch out for a radio that isn't built to incorporate all of these extra features. Aftermarket head units can't cover every scenario either, as each car has a slightly different blend of features that are feeding the screen.

Without a worldwide working group that standardizes the components of the infotainment system in a fully interoperable and modular manner, it will continue to move in that direction as consumers demand more and more at their fingertips and on screen.

This is the main reason why UNAVI works so well, it does not replace the radio but integrate into the car, thus maintaining all of the original features such as XM, Bluetooth, Steering Wheel Controls, USB ports, and all the AUX inputs and looks completely OEM in your dash.

I think the challange remain for the people who need an aftermarket nav for a TECH package genesis.

i hope this will be accommodated soon. i am sick of using the TOMTU or GARBAGE.

I personally prefer a Garmin, which can be purchased for a little over $100 that has free lifetime quarterly map updates, and can fit in my pocket if I need to carry it around. I don't use my Garmin every day, but when I do need it I can put it on the dash (with a beanbag mount) almost right in front of me, without having to look way to the side where a factory installed screen would be.

The same can be said about smart phone with Google Maps.
The only downside of smart phone is that I couldn't use it in Canada because I didn't want to get high roaming charges. So I had to use Garmin.

But from my understanding the unavi doesnt have audio out rcas... all that integration is really great, but not an actual answer to those looking for actual good sound. (Yes, the lexicon setup sounds ok, for stock)

I would love to be incorrect on this, please correct me if im wrong!

Yes your are correct, the UNAVI System only has Video rca outputs. Now you can still do a inline amp, and also upgrade the sub as well as the other speakers, UNAVI is utilize the OEM audio system and integrates an OEM looking 8" High Def Touch Screen into the dash. We've have customers that are using the UNAVI system with multiple amps and subs. I would say that 9 out of 10 UNAVI customers what they are looking for is to add the 8" HDTS and retain the OEM look and feel to their dash and also keep all the OEM functions (XM, Bluetooth, Steering Wheel Controls, USB ports) and adding a good amount of retail value to his or her Genesis Sedan.

My head unit blinks on & off with that damn Hyundai emblem , when you cut the car on sometimes for about an hour b4 the radio or navi will come on. Had my head unit replaced once but now im looking for something different , i want to keep the look & all my other features & i already have a aftermarket amp and bass tube in my rear , so my sound is fine for me . The problem is just sometimes my head unit just wont come on. I have the 4.6 tech package navi can i replace my head unit with this UNAVI device & if so what are the prices, install would only be performed by me, dont trust anyone to work on my car HEY DOES THIS UNAVI HAVE NAVIGATION ALSO,,,?

UNAVI does include Navigation, but I don't believe that it fits Genesis cars with Tech Package.

I don't like OEM blue screen of my 2009 genesis too. So i was looking for aftermarket devices, but soon i found out, that there is only uNavi.
Since uNavi's price is too high and I hate winCE,
I've made my own project for android tablet (Nexus 7). It takes me 2 month to make this project, but now I have all I need and going to complite it in 2, maybe 4 weeks. On the video you see real-time climate control idication on android tablet. The more things coming soon. Enjoy the video:

Now i'm pretty good in microcontrollers programming, java and android, thanks to this project.
The full price for hardware I used - is about 100$. Plus I've bought display frame for tablet install for a 50$ from ebay. So it is like 10 times cheaper than uNavi. ;)
