  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A Thread for those of us with (only) praise.

Regarding my new 2013 Genesis R-Spec.... No sqeeks, rattles, shakes, or any problem of any kind inside or out. Mine was apparently not made on a friday.

Just wait till you use the DIS or Bluelink. Those are the only two things wrong with my new 2013. Everything else is perfect. But the Bluelink is inoperable and DIS is subpar.

Can't get past the initial post eh?

i think bluelink is as good or better than the onstar i came from. i have never had an issue getting a live person as you have. maybe its a geographic difference?

the dis better than my wife's glk, so subpar isnt quite fair.

I love my Genny. Most fun in a car I've ever driven and best stereo system I've ever owned.

Every car I've had - even at twice the price of my R-Spec - has had compromises. Taking all that into consideration, this has been the most satisfying car ownership experience I've had.

Love my 2012 Genny. It is the most enjoyable car I have owned and a good deal of the satisfaction is the value. I am very comfortable (6'5" 240 lbs) in any seat, love the ride and how quiet it is. All I want is to find excuses to drive it. I visited a LARGE HI END body shop last week and the crew all gathered around asking tons of questions, admiring the fit & finish, styling, listening to my Lexi (Porcupine tree) and shaking their heads about Hyundai as strong class competition. My wife worked in the industry for 30 years as a product specialist for Chrysler, Subaru and Suzuki and thinks she is in a Limo, very impressed. The service dealer is top notch. They not only are replacing seat after a 30 second inspection but are also updating maps because my purchase date was after the latest update and THEY felt I was entitled to it. Car had 12,000 miles as dealer service vehicle but Hyundai recognizes me as the primary owner and MY purchase date hence the updates, etc.
This is following an experience with GM that was always a battle regarding a 2010 Equinox: new engine, two steering boxes, two broken lumbar, cracked manifold, new FI, broken control bezel, heck I can't remember it all and I fought to get it done. The engine used a qt of oil every 800 miles and they fought me claiming consumption was within guidelines for 30,000 miles!
This site has been a wonderful resource and helped me identify options I didn't know how to use or even aware of. My gratitude to all posters

Hi All, well I've owned lots of cars, amongst the overall best:-
Original Jaguar XJ6 4.2, Original Big Lexus, Volvo 740, Hyundai 2009 Azera and now the "G" 3.8 Sedan..The worst a 2012 Passat:- 1st one was a Lemon, VW changed it for a 2013 Passat SEL, which within a thousand miles started the usual Passat issues. I love my "G" a bl**dy good car..:cool:

I owned a 2002 Passat for 11 years. The only thing it was good for was to swear me off VW's forever. It was my 3rd and LAST.

I love my Genny. Best car I've ever owned.

A 3 month old white 2012 with 5.0 and all trim available.

I think the G is, with out a doubt, the most beautiful car on the road. Nothing else comes close to drawing my attention.

I am not going to rebadge as I want those who admire will know its a Hyundai and I want Hyundai to get the recognition they deserve for creating this car.

Absolute perfection so far with 1,400 miles.

G

1200 miles into owning my 2009 genesis 4.6, I can honestly say the bang for the buck is incredible.

Previously I had a 2007 Saturn Aura XR with the 3.6 LY7 engine and I thought it was good value amd was quick, but the Genesis is an absolute joy to drive. I am a big fan of underdog cars like the Genesis.

Still have some warranty stuff to do (fog lights need to be changed, drivers door handle not working), but this is not alarming to me as the car has 50000 miles and is 4 yrs old. No complaints to speak of other than the 'Nanny' being more overbearing than my mother. That being said, I have found Ping's thread and will be letting her loose once I am more comfortable with the car's behaviour and disposition.

What's that saying? "With great power comes greater responsability" :D
We have a lot of twisty, windy roads around here where I can really let her rip and I can feel the grin on my face when I do it.

Best car I have owned by far.

If that's the case then I seriously think mine is defective, or there's a geographic diff. I think I need to bring it in.

Is there anyone in Northern Californian using BlueLink with success? Mine is choppy and can't receive voice commands. 9 of 10 attempts are not successful and it says thank you and hangs up.

I do agree the car is the most beautiful thing on the road. And a joy to drive. In all the important ways its amazing.

I have read all the posts above in this thread, and I deserve a Klondike Bar.

Re:- Both BlueLink & AirCon..
(I travel around Jamestown/Mariposa/Merced/fresno/Modesto)
apart from one or two mountain areas my BlueLink works 100%.
A/C is cold within a very few minutes of Start Up...
With what seems like inherent issues on particular vehicles I have always found it best to write direct to the CEO/President of the company..
~~~~~~~~~~~It's amazing what can happen~~~~~~~~~~~~
If the Service Manager says "I have never heard of these issues/problems"
my answer is:- "read these posts".......they ALL cannot be wrong or imagined..
Now lets get the job done, wheres my Loaner? :eek:
