  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've searched but found nothing (?).

So, what is involved in changing the air filter (engine)? I see the two little clips, but, do I need a screw driver in order to remove the hose clamp in order to change the air filter. I'm obviously not very mechanically inclined and don't want to screw something up. (2010 4.6L)

Section 7 of the owner's manual, about page 22 to 24, shows you how to replace the engine air filter.

Woot! Why didn't I look there? lol

Ok, I'm old and half blind. I cannot make out exactly what's involved. I see the two clips and undo those, but, do not find a 3rd clip. Unable to make out what the diagram shows regarding the complete removal of the cover to get to the air filter. H E L P ! ! !

HA! I always tell my family that there's a HELP button for every program and a users manual for every piece of equipment. If you can't find it that way, then go to youtube. Wadda ya gonna do when I'm dead, huh? Figure it out! :D

Steve, unable to find anything on youtube. Searched there before posting here. There's a great video on how to replace the cabin air filter, but, not the engine air filter..... unless I used the wrong parameters when searching.

According to the video posted above, it looks like there are only two clips for the V8, and the other end is hinged. I couldn't help you because I have the 2009 V6, which has 4 clips.

I would recommend you use some good task lighting or flashlight, etc so you can see exactly where the clips are located. Also, it is a good idea to vacuum out the chamber right below where the filter goes, since there is bound to be some debris in there that will eventually get sucked up into your new filter.

Does anyone know the best place to buy the air filter?
What is the price from the Dealer?
I bought the cabin air filter from FilterHead.com and price was $15.
Thx

If you are willing to buy multiple items at one time to offset shipping cost, this is a good place:
http://www.newhyundaiparts.com/
This is run by Hilton Head Hyundai in South Carolina (you can call their parts department to get same people).

Woot!! At long last I got it! Dang, things have changed over the decades.
