  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2013 with Tech questions

Ok, let me get the right..
The Eyebrows are always On when ignition is On. DRL's are On when the ignition is On & the Light switch is On or Auto.
The Auto turns On the headlights when it's Dark, the moving headlights Only work when the Light switch is on Auto..The DRL's turn into High Beams when the High Beam is selected..The lower driving lights Turn Off when the High Beams are On -> They resume On when headlights are On in the normal driving position.. My MIL's brisket is cooked and ready to eat! If engine is running and in Park, the DRL's can be extinguished by applying the Emergency Brake!! Activating the Hazards will Turn Off the DRL's.. Potatoes & veggies are ready. Don't forget the Bud""... The Passengers front door (exterior touch button) will Lock/Unlock All the Doors. The drivers door (exterior touch button) will require 2 activations to Unlock All the Doors. The radio dial can be alternated between White or Black background using the the Large Centre control wheel toggled between the 12 & 6 o'clock positions.. Now, pass the gravy".. ? -> if the front windows & sun roof are Open, will using the Remote close these as well as folding in the Mirrors & Locking the vehicle ?...........Being a short ass" when the drivers seat is in the Ingress position I cannot reach the brake pedal to deactivate the isolation switch
and thus allow the Push Button Start to activate/start the vehicle..:grouphug:

Nap time . . .

I remain confused, but thanks for the detailed description. I thought the eyebrows were the DRLs and the lights beside them were the parking lights. When I drive into my garage, with the light switch set to OFF, something bright is actually ON.

When you drive into your garage with the light switch off, your DRLs are on. Got it? Your DRLs are only off when you turn your parking lights, or your headlights, on. Got it now?

Suggest you park in front of a storefront window and test the various lights till you've got it down. That's what I did and that's also how I test all of my exterior lights periodically.

Now, repeat after me. "The eyebrow lights are not the DRLs."

The high beam DRL's are very bright. Obviously nothing like the high beams on full steam, but very bright for DRL's.

If everything is left on "auto", the DRL's will be on whenever you drive during the day and the e-brake is off. When it's dark enough, the car switches the headlights "on", you'll get the indicator on the dash, and at that time, the DRL high beams go off and the headlights and "eyebrows" come on with the rest of your lights. If you have the fog light switch "on", they will also come on with the headlights, eyebrows, and all the rest, with a second dash icon for just the fogs. If you switch to high beams while the lights are on, the fogs and dash indicator go off.

Hope that makes sense.

The car manual mentions parking lights. I can only find lights that would be called parking lights directly beside the eyebrows. The manual also addresses DRLs. I cannot find any reference that says the parking lights and DRLs are actually the same lights.

I agree that I need to use a reflecting glass to study what goes on. So far, I cannot find a way to turn off the parking lights. I think I will get someone to switch the lights while I watch.

Does anyone know where the parking lights are located? I assume they come on when switched on and are otherwise off.

PLEASE sit in front of a store window reflection and figure it all out.
