  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2013 3.8 with premium package only. I am trying to get the easy access feature to work. When I turn off the car. The steering wheel moves up, but not the seat. The owners manual references that if your vehicle is equipped, you can go through the info menu of the DIS. Is this a tech package feature only? MY steering wheel moves up, just not the seat.

Also- I looked at the manual, and found out how to set the memory function for seats. Mirrors, steering wheel, but can't find out how to tie if to my remote. I want my remote to have my settings and my wife's remote to have hers.

Thanks to all for helping the newbie!

Yes, the easy seat function is a Tech pack feature if I recall correctly.

:welcome:

ALSO - DIS is short for "driver information system", which is Tech pack only, so you would not have the easy seat feature.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
On the '12 Premium package (and likely the '13) the auto seats are not tied to the remotes. Just push the door buttons before you climb in. See your dealer to discuss the seat movement issue. That should be functioning as well.

So the steering wheel tilts out of the way , but the seats don't move? Seems odd that they would do one and not the other. Also seems odd that the steering wheel tilt away would be part of the premium and the seat movement would be tech oh. I am not saying you are incorrect. Just seems odd that they would do the wheel and no seats.

You must have misread. I didn't say the seat was not supposed to move.

I'm afraid the above poster is correct about the Tech package having the seat movement. Odd? Yes, but, with Hyudai odd is the norm!!

However the tech package has both seat and steering wheel movement. Be glad you have one of the two.

It's nice to have choices though. My Optima has the easy seat function, but this feature can not be turned off like it can in the Genesis with tech pack. Sucks having a manual adjusting steering wheel in the Optima though.....I'm so posh!

How did you deduce that?

Yes- my bad- quoted wrong post. Sorry

The Premium seats do move, along with the mirrors and the steering wheel. The Tech package allows you to disable the auto seat if you choose to.

Keep in mind if the seat is far enough back, it won't activate either.

My 2010 with premium (no tech) behaved the same. I took it to the dealer, where they hooked up their laptop, made a quick change, and voila! - the seat moves. I imagine the 2013's are the same.

Yes, correct.

Also, when the seat does retract, the retracted position will not necessarily be a comfortable one.

Ok - a follow up to my question. I took the car to the dealer and asked about the easy seat feature . The technician had to download a program and update a setting, but the easy seat feature now works on my 2013 3.8 with premium package only. I tried it myself and it does work. The hyundai national assistance line did not even know this was an option. Perhaps it is feature that is not turned on for premium package But can be a activated? Back door?

Anyway- I also took the car in for poor radio reception on AM. Their response was - it must be the metallic tint. I got the car tinted after 1 week of ownership. And can't remember what it was like during the one week with no tint. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Remove and replace with non-metallic tint.

My Premium model came with the auto seat activated and working.

Have a 2017 G90 Ultimate. Easy seat feature shows on, has always worked until yesterday. Steering easy access still works.
I've turned easy seat off, let it set several hours, turned back on, still doesn't work.

Any ideas?
