  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So interested

I will be graduating law school this spring and in the market for a new car in the fall-winterish. I currently have an '08 WRX, before that an 02 WRX and before that a '98 Eclipse GS-T. As you can see, I love turbo's! I am very interested in the 2.0T Genesis. I've heard it is the same platform as Evo engine. At 212hp it seems a little weak but I'm wondering if it will be as modable as the Evo. I'd like to get 300-350 out of it. Is this realistic?

Thanks guys...look forward to being part of the forum!

I've never seen a turbo engine that couldn't be made a liitle more powerful. Just a couple pounds more boost does wonders for horsepower. I'm sure the aftermarket already has speed parts for the coupe that they are sitting on, waiting for the coupe to go on sale.

Like you I'm a big turbo fan. The Genesis Coupe has a similar engine but not entirely the same. However it's close enough that we can probably see similar results compared to the EVO and SRT-4 guys (all three cars share the same engine block). 300-350HP should be easily attainable and there are already people in Korea getting there as the video below shows. The car in the video below has a stock engine but upgraded turbo manifold, upgraded turbo and aftermarket exhaust.

Results: 362HP 300+ft/lb :)

Yes there are already tons of aftermarket parts for the coupe here in Seoul! aero kits, suspension, turbos, exhausts, etc.

Thanks for the replies guys. I can't wait to check the Genesis out! With the Supra, RX-7, 300ZX, 3000GT all ancient history, I think the turbo Genesis is great new option in the nearly extinct world of turbo coupes!

Beowulf, 300-350whp shouldn't be a problem with 2.0t, I'm actually hoping to get over 400whp on stock internals, although most everything else will be upgraded. Good luck.:D

im a sti owner and im getting one and ppl thought the same about the bug eyes(wrx), but with the right supporting mods and a good tune i was seeing them run high 12's so i really believe this will be a hitand make good power

Yea I'm definitely going to try to get one of these. The KBB of my car right now for what a dealer would give me is about $10,775, so I should be able to pay for one.

Yeah, I'm am very excited about this car too. First time I've been REALLY excited about a vehicle since the Supra. I hope it meets my hopes. There is a Hyundai dealership right near my office, I look forward to test driving one ASAP!

No....my address is not any type of rock. I've had some pretty cool cars. But the Genesis is one of the first cars that I am REALLY excited about. It fits a lot of the qualifications I want in a car. The last car to meet all of those was the Supra.

I'd have to agree with you. The Genesis has a lot of features I've been wanting in a car, and it's at a pretty affordable price.
