Went to the dealer for an oil change on my 2012 R Spec with 34,000 miles and the dealer said I need a differential service. Costs $200!
Anyone heard of such a thing before? Is it needed?
That is BS. Check your maintenance schedule in manual. I did mine myself at 100,000 miles. Cost less than $15.00.
Yes, thanks...I thought the same...this dealer try's to do all this unnecessary work all the time...
They also told me I needed a radiator /coolant service, which cost $200!!!
I like the car... but hate the service experience...
I don't know why all vehicles with a differential would not have 2 plugs, unless they are trying to get the customer to come in for service.
You must not have owned a Chevy before.![]()
I have, but nothing with RWD. The Genesis is my 1st RWD car![]()

Please tell us the name of this dealer so we can be in the know too.
It's Paramus Hyundai in Northern NJ.
please read the manual. it's not required for at least 100K
Don't take it personally. Dealers could not stay in business without their service departments, and the fact that some people fall for their service "advice" allows you to buy cars from them at a lower price than you would otherwise have to pay.Yes, thanks...I thought the same...this dealer try's to do all this unnecessary work all the time...
