  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do non-Lexicon cars still have center and subwoofer grills?

I'm thinking of buying a Genesis 3.8 and if I do, I'll be putting in a custom stereo. None of the features of the Premium or Tech packages are must-haves for me, so if I can get by with a base model, that'd be good. But, I do plan to install a center channel speaker, and also want the 8" sub hole to pass sound through from the sub I'll put in the trunk. With just seven speakers, I assume the base stereo has no center channel and maybe no sub either, but do these cars still have the grills for them?

I tried to find the answer from photos in for-sale ads, but in all the ones I could find where I could identify the base model stereo, there was too much glare on the dash to see if there was a center grill.

Base Trim has no center speaker (or grill) on dash in the front, but it does have a sub-woofer in middle of rear deck. Not sure what the diameter of the sub-woofer is.

Damn damn damn! There are so many more base models available for sale. Ok, thanks very much, Mark!

Most used Base Trim models are former rentals. Dealers don't actually sell that many of them.

Ohhhh, wow, that is good to know. Ick. That does make it easier to accept having to wait to find a Prem/Tech model. Thanks again!
