  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Afternoon Good People,

I hope all is well with everyone here. So for the Thanksgiving holiday me and the misses rented a black Genny as this one of my top cars I’m considering to purchase. The other choice is a Chrysler 300. I will say that the Genny is hella quiet, power is totally there with the V6 and the ride quality is awesome. And we gotten 30mpg doing 72-78mph during the whole duration of the road trip. Dallas, TX to Chicago, IL (920 miles one way). I have to say I was quite impressed with this car. However one big problem.... With me being 6’2 and about 350 lbs.. I noticed that the bottom portion of the seat seemed like it lacked support for my long legs. Have anyone else experienced this??? Otherwise love the car...

Glad you enjoyed the ride. I am 6'1" and have not had problems with leg support but this is probably a very personal thing. I do believe the sitting position is a little awkward in the Genesis for taller people. I feel like I have to push the seat farther back and have to reach forward to reach the steering wheel (cannot telescope my steering wheel). It took a while to get the seat and lumbar support set up just right where it is comfortable for me.

The lack of support in the seat bottom (mostly characterized as too short) is apparently a common enough complaint. Pictures of the new 2015 Genesis show an added, user adjusted front on the seat bottom. Hyundai has heard the complaints.

We don't know if that feature will make it to the US, or if it does, on what trim levels it will be available on.

And we don't know if it won't make it either....... ;)

Yes, that's what I said. If I knew it would not make it, I would have said so.

Based on 2009-2014 Genesis sedan models, there are at least some features in the KDM (Korean Domestic Market) Genesis versions that did not make it into the US or Canadian versions. This is not totally surprising, partly because the significant difference in price. Obviously, we don't know about 2015, but probably some newer members don't release that the KDM and North American versions have been different in the past and "may be" different in the future.

Also, even if the seats do make it to the US model, it may be available only on certain trim levels (as I mentioned above).
