  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So, the wife and I went to NYC for our Anniversary and to see some Yankee/Red Sox baseball in The Bronx. The Genny hasn't seen any long trips since we bought it back in March, We loaded her up, filled her up @ $65.00, cruised at an average of 67.4 MPH and in return, she gave us 525 miles on 1 tank!! I kept driving a little bit after the "Miles to empty" display went out. Probably could have gotten a little more from her. 27.46 average MPG?? I'll take that all day long in a VERY comfortable, relaxing car any day. :D

Is the 2010 V6 a GDI motor?

No not until 2012, I believe.
Go Sox :)

Nice. I drove my R-Spec about 2,500 miles from the Mid Atlantic to Canada and back and another 2,000 from the Mid Atlantic to southern FL and back again. I think I cracked 23 mpg average for both. I'm jealous of your gas mileage.

The driving experience of the R spec is well worth the difference from the 3.8. Im not knocking anyone , but you bought this car because it performed--- not saying anymore. If I took my wife to a baseball game for our anniversary I would be posted papers for a divorce. Not really but come on. Dont think this post is relevant. Not like he had a limited addition Maserati and an exclusive enclosed box at the game handed down from his great grandfather. Please tell us more about your R spec , I am and some of us are looking to buy this car . Thanks

Baseball is something we BOTH enjoy. You do what you guys want to do for your anniversary. I may not be driving a 'Limited EDITION Maserati", box seats are overrated and not for real baseball enthusiasts. And, no, they were not handed down from my Great Grandfather. We actually paid for them ourselves.

I'm glad you all enjoyed your trip, Happy Anniversary !! :D

On my trip from FL to NC & back I got right around 28.5mpg highway and 18 in the city, this is while the engine was still in it's break in period. I'm really happy with the improvements made from my 2010 V6 and look forward to a 2016-17 Genny in the future so long as Hyundai addresses some oversights in the 2015's lol..............cough ...fog lights.

That avg mpg sounds a tad low for a r-spec if it was all hwy driving otherwise you could have mixed in some city driving in between.
To date my longest round trip has been around 250 miles and I cashed in around 26-27mpg which is a hair better than her sibling 3.8 coupe. This is all pure gasoline 93 octane though.
I'm pretty happy with the numbers.:)

My '12 R-spec gets in the low 20's in town and high 20's on the highway. I did crack 30MPG very briefly one time by really light-footing it but like the man said:

I bought this car for performance. I'm pleased with the mileage it delivers but it is not an economy car. It consistently gets better mileage than my wife's 1999 Dodge Dakota V6.

I live in the low AZ desert (about 1300 ASL) where it is mostly flat. Mountain driving (and we have some high ones) take a toll on mileage but I haven't driven enough of them yet to get firm numbers. About the only thing that will affect mileage near my home is high winds and I try not to drive in those (because of the dust).

Oh, and I use 87 octane exclusively.
