  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai Equus Roll Call!

Just traded my 2011 Genesis on a 2014 Platinum Metallic Equus. What a vehicle! Take possession of the Equus on 9/20/13. I will report back on my driving experience & pictures in about a week. Question for the forum. Looking for a rear deck spoiler for my Equus. I had a rear deck spoiler on the Genesis & I feel that the Equus needs one to visually brake up the upper rear valance panel.... Too much painted surface for me. Almost like the rear end of a Camry. My dealer parts book shows a picture of an Equus with a spoiler. However, he could not locate an Equus Spoiler part number in his after market parts book. Any thoughts on a Equus spoiler parts source besides my taste in a spoiler on the Equus?

I apologize for the camry remark. My Equus was also delivered with out the chrome strip (part was added by dealer) below the deck lid. So that made the rear valance really stick out in my opinion.

I just bought a few weeks ago the 2014 Equus Ultimate, Parisian Grey with Black interior.

So far head's up display is the best thing I have purchased.

If you own a Hyundai Equus, post here and add a few pictures if you can...
In December of 2013 I received literature from my local Hyundai dealer regarding great trade in deals on my 2012 Genesis 4.6. While I found nothing that piqued my interest regarding a new Genesis, I did find a CPO 2012 Equus Ultimate with only 5k miles on it. I took the car home on New Years Eve. Great car. It is Dark Gray with saddle brown interior. My mother in law no longer drives, so I serve as her chauffeur most of the time. She loves watching DVD's, using the massaging and heat seat function, as well as the convenient mini refrigerator.

Has anyone had this problem? I purchased a 2014 Equus Ultimate in January of 2014 shadow brown with cream interior now has 5500 miles.

I seem to have several problems with the car, 1) When using SCC after a few miles up warning lite "Check SCC Radar" and the AVSM OFF light comes on; SCC cannot be reset until the car is restarted and only for a few miles before it happens again. 1) Also my car seems to slip or miss when accelerating this may be inherent to Hyundai all the loner cars I've driven do the same thing. The dealer has had my care for five days so far, had the factory rep down cannot figure out what's wrong with the SCC & AVSM system.

Just traded my '12 Equus signature for a '14. I loved the '12 but the new interior and re-designed dash really appealed to me. And the Blind Spot Montoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are driving aids I wanted.

Went from Granite Grey/Black to Black/Ivory so even tho it is basically the same car, it looks a lot different on the inside so it is really a new car experience.

It was a demo (of course, only driven by the owner). I was able to swap out of my existing lease with about 16 months left on it for a total of $13 more a month on the new lease, with nothing out pocket. I think I made a good deal, but in the car biz, who knows.

Congrats! You're gonna love the Snow Driving Mode too, better than my former Passats with 4Motion.

Can you tell me about the Snow Driving Mode? The manual doesn't really explain how it works. I suspect it just starts in 2nd or 3rd gear.

The Sport Mode is much more aggressive than my '12 was in terms of higher shift points, a lot more fun...... but I don't feel that much difference in the steering/suspension. All in all, a great car.

Hi everyone!

Just got into a 2014 satin white pearl Equus Signature last friday after owning a 2011 Genesis 4.6 titanium grey metallic.

My dealer called to let me know the 2015 Genny's were in and when I went in to look, all that was available were 3.8's. Nice car the new Genesis but I wanted a 5.0.

Seems the 5.0's will be in later. When I asked what the price would be, I was shocked to find out the new Genny 5.0's would start around 53 to 55 large.

Well, my salesman and good friend Dave Baxter at Korum Hyundai in Puyallup Washington said, why not try an Equus? They're about the same price. Well......

I did and fell in love instantly. :D

Man! What a difference between the two vehicles. So far my wife and I are very happy with the new Equus. She set us back 55,053 out the door with tax and license. Received generous rebates from Hyundai and repeat customer loyalty rebates as well. My son bought a new 2014 Elantra from them last month so that helped with the $$ off.

I have posted on the Genesis forums regularly and look forward to posting my experiences with the Equus.

Congratulations Perry,
I went out to visit with Perry on Sunday and saw the Equus. Wow. What a stunning vehicle. White with saddle brown interior. Rides like what I wanted my Genesis to ride like. Smooth with lots of power. I'm sure you will enjoy this car for many trouble free years. Again congratulations on your first Equus. I may upgrade too when I start to look at the Genesis 5.0 Ultimates, whenever they arrive.

Thanks buddy.

I'm glad you got a chance to drive her. Still loving her four days later since her purchase. :) Time to get the clay bar and the Blackfire wax out and give her a good going over.

Lets hope the honeymoon lasts longer than my Genesis.

Hey guys, I just traded in my 2013 Genesis Sedan and my wifes beater Ford focus for a demo'd white 2014 Equus Signature for 51K from Kearny Mesa Hyundai in San Diego, CA. (It only had 1200 miles on it) I love it more than the wives Mercedes GL450! Only two car notes to pay now!

Congrats!

I'm still loving mine and I just turned 600 miles on it. Can't wait for the road trip to the Oregon coast to break her in proper. :D

Just installed my emblem today. It was a simple 10 min job, the hardest part was getting the badge off with 20lb fishing line. It gave me some trouble before I sprayed WD-40, after that it just cut thru the 3M adhesive like a hot knife thru butter.

Advise well taken. With that in consideration, I took the original badge and epoxy'd a bolt in the slot so I can swap them out incase I leave my car out in the city for an extended time. I hope them thieves stay away! I would hate to have to hurt anyone if I caught them...

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Any luck on the AVSM light at the dealership?

Mine just started doing this as well. It will not read the car in front of it for some reason???

Would be helpful to know before I take it to the dealership and they start troubleshooting.

After waiting for 2 weeks for the sensor they finally figured out the sensor had slipped off pivot. Seems the original service manager didn't take the cover off and check the sensor. After they reset the sensor I haven't had anymore problems with it.
