  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ok, for those of us that have put some miles on the car what are the little issues which you would change if you could?
This isn't a function issue post, just the minor details, that if you could, would change (or have Hyundai change)
(thinking of a list of design tweaks for future years).

1. volume button for radio.
feels cheap to the touch. I use the steering wheel control so not an issue for me, but a heavier nob like the DIS control would be great.

2. auto wipers..
in muddy conditions it would be great if the washer activated rather than smearing the windshield.

3. center dash speaker (in lexicon system).
Hide the speaker better, reminds me too much of a mid seventies nova speaker (always ended up with a cracked dash).

4. DVD playback.
Allow play while moving for passenger,
(yes I know legal issue, but this is a wish list)

5. Google search (or similar limited internet)
The car already receives real time feeds for traffic, It would be nice if I could look up area restaurants .

6. Phone features.
the phone button on the wheel should also hang up the phone.

7. Display,
Finer control over the brightness.

the ability to completely turn off the ESC control if you desire

bluetooth losses connection too much

Thats my only 2. :)

I LOVE THE GEN!

#5(restaurant lookup),6,&7 are already in the tech package.

That the actual tire psi could be displayed instead of a picture with a blinking tire. It is a nice feature on my cadillac. It also told the "life left" for oil and transmission fluid.

More storage and/or compartments in the driver/passenger area (unrealistic given its current design), but it's something I miss.

Slide-out sunshades inside the sun visors to expand their width like my MDX has.

Gotta get a Genesis before I can suggest anything for the "wish" list. Congrats to all of you that have gone on before me. :)

While not completely up-to-date, the system already has the functionality to search for restaurants (and other POIs) close to you, or along the route you're on if you have one programmed in. Once the icons are on, you can list out the items, which are listed in order of closest distance.

Selecting one will give you the address and phone number, which will also give you the option to add a waypoint or dial the number.

the phone button on the wheel should also hang up the phone.

Holding the button down for a few seconds should hang up the phone.

I'm actually surprised it doesn't have the Tire PSI listed. My Phaeton (previous car) had this 5 years ago, and I believe all the GM cars show the individual tire PSI. I'd also like to be able to reset the TPMS myself. Are a couple of really cold days (for us, anyway), my TPMS came on and wouldn't reset itself (left it for over a day) until I put some air in the tires. My tires were only low by 2 PSI when I finally did. The cold (around 20°F) kicked it off.

Do you know how accurate the GM TPMS actually was (as compared against a tire gauge that is known to be accurate)? It doesn't need to be precise for its intended purpose (to warn of significant under inflation), but I could see Hyundai being reluctant to display a psi reading that was only approximate (only within 2-3 psi of the actual number).

I wish the headlights would come on when the windshield wipers come on.

On my Continental, after one or two swipes of the wipers, the headlights come on.

That's an excellent point about the wipers. Here in California it is now illegal to use your windshield wipers in the rain without the headlights on. Since it's an obvious safety issue, I don't understand why all auto makers haven't adopted that feature. It's not as though it's going to reduce the gas mileage by making the alternator work harder.

I wish I didn't have to accept the DIS disclaimer every time I get in the car.

I couldn't agree more. How about agreeing once every 100th startup.

Also, annoyed DIS takes so long to load and then display rear backup camera. I like to leave in a hurry in the am and my camera takes way too long from startup of car and placing car in reverse to seeing the image.

The camera function should be a quick analog function, independent of the DIS computer and bypass the DIS startup sequence. My wife's Lexus reverse camera comes on almost instantly after startup and placing into reverse.:)

8. larger finger hole for the trunk release.
Here in MN (-4 today), I tend to open the door then release the trunk, but with gloves on, I can't because the slot is too narrow.

Back on phone hang up. The default is to HOLD the current conversation if you don't hold the phone button long enough, which I keep doing. It is just a little annoying.

On the google lookup, there are a lot places in my area not listed on the map. realtime would just be more accurate.
