  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Finally! :)

I see .
Will try with a different tool (plastic) tomorrow.
Thanks bud.
Replaced both trunk and door lights with LEDs this afternoon. A small/thin flat head screwdriver easily pops out the door plastic covers. The trunk has a small tab. Whole thing took about 15 minutes.

I disconnected the battery to ensure no shorts. Negative off first, on last.

Did you get the same bulbs as me? post some pictures when it gets dark :)

I'll post some pictures later with wings installed!

Same bulbs.. following the bulb master.. :)

With the right tool it popped open in no time.
Did the two front doors tonight because that's all I've got.
The other two are in order from local Advanced Auto Parts.
Credit Derek once again.

Very nice indeed.
Derek are you gonna do the front hood wing?

Last edited:
Nope, I like it without it. With the wing on front hood it reminds me a Chrysler :D

That's what I thought too but decided to give a try if I did not like it then it would be taken off.
Well it has stayed on ever since.

Installed the trunk LED lights tonight. (p/n DE3175)
Well they're too dim for my taste.
Even a tad dimmer than stocked light.
Need to find something at least twice as bright.
Any suggestion?

Yeah, I'm looking for replacement too. I'll post if I find something....the original bulb is about 26mm in length, I think we can get away with ~29mm, not longer.

With all those dinners you are buying for your wife cause of your expenditures on your Genny, she may turn pudgy on you! lol

Does the foot light use the same part as the door or 168/194/2825?
Does anyone know?
Are these any good?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Actually, the door is 168/194/2825 .....yea, it might be the same size, I'm not really sure.
Pull one out and see. I can't do that, I'm out of state now, away from my "Bentley" :D

The foot well lights are the same as the door's ones.
Installed both tonight.
The driver side was a breeze to replace.
The passenger played a little hard to get though.
I used the pliers to no prevail due to mostly I tried not to use the force with the risk of breaking the bulb.
Finally with a little trick, I inserted a 1/4in plastic tube onto it and was able to pull the oem bulb out.
Love the looks :)

Nice! they must be brighter than OEM's, right?

I'll do mine when I get back.

ps.
can you resize your pictures? not bigger than let say ....1100x whatever :D thanks

Ha ha...the oem were like the little kid's birthday cake candle by comparison.
I tried to take the oem pic without the flash for before and after but it would not come out.
Now I have to wait from my local part store to stock up the part in order for me to do the remaining two rear doors.
The trunk light will have to be replaced with something twice as bright.
I may order from Diode Dynamic this time.

I've always used tinypic for pics hosting and looks like it did not resize or does give the option for it.
And i was just being a lazy arse to resize it myself.
Next time though.
