  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 5.0 Ultimate vs 2013 5.0 Rspec performance

The 2015 3.8L is defiantly slower than the 2013 3.8L

Those damn defiant V6's. When will they fall in line with the rest of the Genesi and stop acting out?:p

With a couple of mods you can have her back under 5 seconds, hopefully there will be a good selection of aftermarket performance parts. She might be slower, but the V8 will still plant you firmly in the seat under hard acceleration.
OK, I asked the performance question and the weight question, and I got a lot of good input from the forum. I thank the forum members for that input. I sure love my 2013 Rspec, but my desire was/is to get the new seat.

So, back to the dealer for some more test driving. If the 2013 Rspec was not such a well built, tight, good looking and great performing car, it would be very easy to give it up, but i need spinal comfort (2015 seat), but I like performance also. The quote about how the 2015 5.0 will still plant you firmly in the seat when getting after it makes a lot of sense. Again, thanks for the input folks, Regards.

I bought a 4.6 Genesis in June of 2010, so when June 2014 arrived I set out for a new car. I loved the 2010 (except for persistent tire noise & 3 sets of tires) and found the car to be bullet proof, zero maintenance issues in 40,000 miles and fast. I drove a 2015 V6 at my dealer and a 2014 R Spec at the same dealer. The 2015 drove nicely, tight and true to the road but noisy. I felt the beltline was too high, above my left shoulder, the windshield confining and the appearance front to rear somewhat bulbous when viewed from the side.
The R Spec suspension was first rate and seemed to provide a solid-tight feel that was lacking in my 2010, the speed factor out of this world. Of course the dealer was ready to deal so I passed on the 2015 and went with the R Spec for the next 4 years. In 4 or 5 years I will check out the "new" model then and see what happens. All in all Hyundai is a fine car with precision engineering and reliability unlike others. Before I purchased this Hyundai as before, I went to my friend who has a machine shop and asked "do you still have all South Korean Machines".....he replied yes. Built in engineering excellence is the only way to go.

After having a 4.6 since 2010, I wouldn't think you would like the 2015 3.8 V6. The 2015 V6 is OK, but the 2015 5.0 & your 2014 Rspec 5.0 feel much more solid than the V6. If I did not need the new seat I would just stay with my Rspec ... it is solid, and it is tight on the road. Good luck with your 2014 Rspec. You should enjoy it with no regrets.

I agree about the 2014 R spec seat, I have spent much time trying to adjust to a comfortable position. So far no luck, it is hard on the butt and seems smallish to me. Thinking back in time I had a 1989 BMW 735I, now there was a comfortable seat!

ATA - So from your post I assume you do not like how your 2014 Rspec seat is. How was your 2010 4.6 seat different? What are you going to do since you cannot get 2014 seat to fit? Regards, Dan. PS - is the steering wheel telescoping feature on your 2014 adequate? Does it telescope out as far as your 2010?

Maybe your butt was smaller back in 1989 :grouphug::):)
