  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just spent about 3 hrs today prepping my car. I should have taken better pics but here are a few that show the shine.

3.8 Tech Black/Black. 20% tints all around 80% on front windshield. I used a sealant and topped it off with Collinite 845 to finish. I am pretty happy with the results.

I would like add that I only have ever owned black cars in my life (this is the 6th) and the black paint on this car is beautiful. It is deep and rich and has just enough metallic to make it sparkle. It is the clear favorite of all the Black paints I have had on my cars. My least favorite is the Carbon Black on my wife's '09 Enclave.

Amazing looks great.:D

It looks great! IMO these cars are STUNNING in black. :) I had mine tinted Wednesday and the tinter (who is very experienced working on exotic cars) guessed the price of the Genny at $65k and was very impressed with it's quality and fit & finish at any price. Four separate people approached me while the work was being done to ooh and ahh over it. I run out of adjectives when I try to describe it. Not cheap, but one helluva value. :)

I don't know about Houston, but in most places they paint the top of school buses white, even if the rest is yellow. There is a reason for that.

I do like the black paint on my 2014.

Thanks all. I really love black cars. They are a total pain to take care of but are worth it when they are clean.

The tints make a huge difference in the heat of the car. I went with some fairly high end tints that block about 60% of the energy from entering the car. i really noticed it on Saturday when it was over 90 and sunny and the car sat out in direct sun for 4+ hrs. It was not super hot as I would have expected. I live in Miami, so I know all about heat and black cars.

Just shined up my black/black ultimate. Any one know how to take care of the matte wood on the interior?

Thank you! I'll be like a kid in the candy store for quite some time #naenaedance lol

Anyone know how to properly care for the matte wood before I get some pledge and a dusting cloth lol

Actualy pledge with moisturizer and a dusting cloth sounds like a good way to go.:o

Pledge is about the worst thing you can put on wood because you will get waxy buildup. More than likely, the wood has a low-gloss lacquer finish, so I would use Bona or Armstrong wood floor cleaner. Test it in a small inconspicuous spot on the door, etc.

Thats why i added link after. Lol
