  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For those who are looking to purchase a car from another state, here is the list of states that only require one license plate. All others require two plates. If you are getting a car from a state that requires (2) license plates, you might end up with holes in the grill that you do not want.

States Requiring Only One License Plate:
Arkansas
Delaware
Florida
Georgia
Alabama
Arizona
Michigan
Mississippi
New Mexico
North Carolina
Oklahoma
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
Tennessee
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky
Louisiana
West Virginia

All other states require two license plates.

Do the dealers drill the holes as part of dealer prep?

Yes. I bought my car in SC but had to have a dealership here in VA drill the bumper and install a plate bracket.

So if you buy the car out of state before they do dealer prep, but make sure they don't drill the extra holes, then maybe that would be OK.

Exactly I told the NY dealer I purchased from that the car will not have holes in the front bumper or I would refuse delivery.

I told my salesman when I got there to put a big sign to not prep the car. They didn't even wash it. Left a lot of the plastic on the interior.

Drove it straight to my buddy who detailed it and put the clear bra on.
