  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know there aren't too many second generations here yet, but of the ones that are I don't remember anyone mentioning any problems yet except maybe one with an XM issue. Are there any others? 4000 miles so far and I have no issues with mine - I hope that will be a common condition for other owners. :) Any 2g owners with any problems?

Only 900 Miles but so far other then the limited voice recognition commands I must say I am pleased. Silent, responsive, very comfortable, smooth ride and handles good. My mixed driving is at about 22 MPG (my 2011 got about 21 MPG with less power and weight) and not a single hiccup from the electronics which was a little bit of a concern given the added complexity of the new systems and past experiences with the old systems.

Ipod function is buggy on my 3.8 AWD Ultimate. Doesn't pick up where it last was when you restart the car. So you could be listening to a track, stop for coffee, and when you restart the car, it goes back to the beginning of the 1st song in the playlist (alphabetically). This is very frustrating - i've started to hate "After the Thrill is Gone" by The Eagles from constantly hearing it every time I start the car!

Also, it will very often not play the next song in the playlist, but jump to a random other song and the screen won't change to reflect what it's actually playing (so it shows the wtong thing on the screen)..

The need to fix these 2 very annoying issues with a firmware update, i believe. Anyone else seeing the same thing or do I just have a defective unit?

Hello all, I am the proud honor of the 2015 Genesis with the ultimate package. This is my second Genesis. I like everything about this car and everyday I discover something new. But I'm having an issue with the bluelink. It will not connect. I have spoken to bluelink and the dealership and both keep giving me the runaround. Each pointing the finger saying it something the other didn't do. I had the dealership contact bluelink and both said everything seems to be in order. I know what the issue is, it's the headunit for bluelink is deffective. I told the dealership either fix it or take the car back and give me my money.
My question is why is Hyundai dragging their feet to resolve this issue.

I never did use the Ipod interface in my Old Genesis even though it came with the cable. I know those who did use it had issues with it. The same is true with my new care I’ll probably never use it especially considering the use of the USB and the internal HD. It is a shame that these things haven’t been sorted out by now. I do know that when I’ve used the USB or the HD as a source I haven’t had those issues.

I tried my i-pod with the same apple cable in my wife's Chevy Equinox and it works perfectly - none of the issues I'm seeing with the Genesis. I leaving it at the dealer next week for a few minor issues and will let them know about this - it's clearly a big defect with the infotainment system and needs to be fixed - If not, I suppose I could threaten the use of the "lemon law"?

Found this in the Hyundai Information website. Not sure if this would help or not.

iPod Cable
The cable plugs in by hand - no tools are needed.
• Once connected, the Hyundai logo will appear on the iPod screen.
• This cable permits iPods to be played through the car's audio speakers and control of the iPod
is enabled through the car's audio unit.
• The iPod's playlist appears on vehicle's audio screen, making it easy to select tracks you want
to listen to.
• May not be compatible with all iPods.
Dealers should consider ordering 10 or ore so they are in stock for demonstration and immediate delivery.

Sorry to hear that. Hope they take care of everything for you. If you don't mind me asking, what are the "minor issues"?

  • Rattle from the front of the sunroof area
  • Delivered with a cut/nick in the steering wheel leather
  • Both rear side windows (the main, movable rear windows) have cloudy vertical streaks in the middle of the panes that are not able to be cleaned off (I've tried several times).

Wow.

1450 Miles. No significant problems. Voice recognition doesn't work well for me (but menus are plenty good). The final destination accuracy for Nav is also a little bit off and causes problems on heavily segmented roads. Everything else has been excellent, and even the Nav itself is usually very good.

4500 miles and happy as a clam. Not too much success with voice, but haven't played with enough to know for sure. I haven't had voice work very well for me on any device so far so I'm not disappointed cuz I didn't expect it to work. Most other aspects have met or exceeded my expectations.
