  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just love this feature, my wife didn't at first and thought it was a waste but with this week being so hot in SoCal and having the car started with the ac running about 5 minutes before we go anywhere she now loves it and asked if it can do the heat in weather, and my reply, of course honey...

Keep on driving my genesis buddies!!!

So sad we can't do it from the key fob :(

Hyundai is probably the only manufacturer (to my knowledge) that dosent offer it.

Also, I'm disappointed with GM. You now need to leave the AC in auto for it to work.

Sometimes i feel that manufacturers dont listen to their customers.

Oh well, someone probably got a big bonus and the company saved some $$$ by doing it this way.

Is there a specific reason you don't leave it in auto all the time. Since my first auto climate control car in 98, I have always left it on auto. The Genesis on the other hand is so smart it actually even knows when to switch to defog.

IMHO you are most likely to have your smart phone handy than your key fob.

Most may offer remote start, but through a third party dealer add-on, not as a manufacturer Key FOB feature, as far as I know. The key FOB would be nice, but being able to use those remote features without seeing the car is a benefit for many needs.

Auto works wells when its hot or cold but when temps are around 60 theres no need for ac or heater. So the issue is that in the cool morning i dont need ac and by the afternoon i do (80+), so i have to remember to turn it on (auto) before turning off the car.

Also, i believe the cabin warms the air slightly if you just turn the ac off and leave the temp at 70.

GM previous remote start would turn on the ac or heater (depending on ouside temp) on auto when vehicle was started. Regardless if it was left on or off. It would then revert to the last setting when ignition was set to on. Current setting will remote start with the last setting. So if you turned you car off on low ac it will continue on low ac during remote start.

GM has offered key fob remote start for many years (not thru 3rd party), I had an 07 with it. Now (2014+ vehicles) they offer both keyfob and app remote start. 99% of the time i use the key fob. Using the app just takes to long.

Hyundai can learn something from GM or other manufacturers. There's no need to turn on the emergency lights during remote start and i also dont need an email every time i use the app.

Genesis app is not as good as GM remote link (onstar) app. On GM you get an in app confirmation if the command went thru. Also, its free for 5 year while Hyundai its only 3 or 6 months.

Not trying to trash Hyundai but its about time they offer a keyfob remote start.

Can the emergency lights be turned off or is that not an option? My plan was to have car running 5 minutes before I leave work to cool it down so when I hopped in, it was nice an cool.

If the emergency lights are flashing I will have people calling me and telling me my flashers are on. Sucks...
