  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

:D Hey everyone, welcome from the middle of the Heartland by a proud new owner of a 2015 Parisian Gray/Ivory Genny 3.8 Ultimate!! Before my purchase, I did a pantload of research using multiple sources but this site was by far the most helpful and informative based on the observations and musings of the many members here. So a big thank you for all of the very useful info contained in these pages.

I can start by confirming what most all of you already know, this is a wonderful car, I have come from a long line of BMW's, and most recently a 2010 VW CC, which was a great car, but I wasn't confident to hold it for any great length of time after the warranty had expired. After one test drive in the Genesis I was hooked. The quiet competence of this car immediately made a huge impression on me, it was fast, comfortable, gorgeous inside and out, and loaded with useful tech that was carefully thought out and intuitively executed. I was stunned by the many features and terrific value it represented in a world of pretentious Euro marques, and at this stage of my life, value and dependability are great motivators and peace of mind contributors, especially when they come wrapped in such an attractive shell.

I now have 2330 miles of trouble free motoring, we took this car on an 1100 mile road trip to Santa Fe last month and it devoured the road like crazy, solid and swift and comfortable in all circumstances, killer Lexicon 17 speaker sound system, amazing vistas from the pano roof, etc, etc, I just couldn't be happier with this purchase...

So aside from sounding like a Hyundai commercial, I want to let those of you who might still be on the fence about the purchase of this car know that you won't regret the nudge from me to go ahead and pull that trigger, I am a convert and really satisfied with the car... Again, thanks so much for all the great info learned on the forum, you all seem like a great bunch of enthusiasts and Im looking forward to becoming a more active member as time goes on... hopefully my file attachment worked, if not, exude the newly error!!

Looks great! I did notice the rear wing is the older one instead of the new '15 did you install it or did the dealer have it like this?

Greetings DominicJE ! There is not a rear wing on my stock '15 Genny, aside from the 30 % ceramic tint and the rear badge, it's stock...maybe the photo angle is a bit deceiving, but its just the stock 2015 w/o the wing! Hope this is what you were referring to ... Thanks for the comment, maybe this angle from another pic will clear it up a bit! :)

Sorry for the confusion, I mean the rear badge wing. Haha

Congrats and welcome!!!

On the trunk lid, stock USA cars come with the Hyundai H emblem. In Korea, the come with the wing emblem. Many people and some dealers are swapping the H for the wing (they get them from people who buy them in Korea and import them).

Yeah, my bad.... I was confusing the wing comment as possibly referring to a subtle rear trunk spoiler! No problems though, like I mentioned, I am a newcomer to the marque and therefore am easily confused!

Anyway, I wanted to mention that I got a great 29 MPG going out to New Mexico (generally uphill), and 32 on the way back (downhill), as there is about a 6000 foot altitude difference ! I was very pleased with the trip mileage, as I am here in town averaging 21 with very little highway miles. Also here in Oklahoma, we are fortunate to have a very good selection of 100% gas available which I just prefer to the ethanol blend and have found to give me a 2 + mpg boost when using this 100% top tier Shell gasoline...

Recently clocked an honest 28 MPG measured 29 indicated am very happy. 4500 Lbs car with AWD speed between 65 and 70 mph. I would say Heartlander we did good. Enjoy the new car.

I just did a long trip to eastern Washington state. Averaged about 27-28 mpg at 65-70. I thought that was phenomenal for a big v8. I'm happy.

Welcome indeed:welcome:
Your purchasing process was exactly like mine for our 2010. Our continued satisfaction with the 2010 (now 90000km or 60k miles) is why we're getting a new one (just like yours - Canuck version) when we get back from our latest trip (9000km). We've driven the 2015 and its' as solidly planted and rides with the same quiet authority as our 2010 does after the miles we've put on it.

No one could go wrong buying this car!!:D

Congrats & welcome. She looks great. I love the blueish tone Parisan looks in some pics.

Congrats on your purchase. I bought an Ibiza Blue with Ivory interior one week ago. I was nervous about the ivory but I really love it. The car stays a little bit cooler during this California heatwave. Parisian Gray/Ivory is a beautiful combination.

LA Genesis, I know that you were one of the more demanding owners of the first gen. I'd be interested in hearing your review of the 2nd gen when you have had some time with it.

Aquineas, have you started to make your list of discussion points for your upcoming trip to the Hyundai motherland? That might be a good thread for you to start here, if you are interested in gathering input.

That's a very good suggestion! Look for the thread forthcoming.

Thanks for the kind comments and warm welcome to the forum everyone! Seattle Gen, that mileage figure you achieved for the big V8 was epic, if I had known that the real world mileage figures for the V8 was this good I might have sprung for the 8, but like I said earlier, I am very pleased with this particular model and will be a happy camper for some time to come... :D For those who commented about the slight blueish tint to the pics of my car, I think my iPhone 4 might not be the best as to rendering absolute color accuracy. I will say that the Parisian Gray does have some attractive blue undertone components in real life, but the iPhone seems to over-emphasize this characteristic a bit more than in real view.

All the more reason to go get a new iPhone 6 and upgrade in this department as well!! :) Kevin
