With all due respect to the individual choices others have made, in my humble opinion the new Genesis still looks best in Casablanca White (especially with the dark full moonroof). My dichotomy with that is that ivory is my favorite interior color, but in the USA anyway, the ivory interior is only available in exterior colors of Caspian Black, Montecito and Ibiza blue. Of the three, black would probably be my choice, but a) it's just so common, and b) my current Genesis is black; it would be nice to change things up a bit. I've got some time to decide this as I'm waiting for next year's model, but I just thought I'd get some feedback just for fun.

What kind of feedback? My wife hated white, black, wasn't crazy about silver, or either gray. Never did see a blue. I didn't care what color.

She thought the red was OK so we bought a red one.

Does that help you decide?

The best advice I could give is you have to see the colors in person. Most likely, there'll be one color that stands out from the rest. For instance, I was set on the parisian grey when I saw the colors on the internet, but when I saw the ibiza blue in the showroom, it stood out -to me personally- from the rest.

This is a very personal choice and no answer is the right one. I have had quite a few white cars and actually have 2 right now however to me white on Gen 1 or Gen 2 just does not look all that great. As for black, the maintenance will kill you and the black mica they used this year was not to my taste, looked like some kinda Xmass tree in the bright sun with all those sparkling colours. Gray? The parsian is very nice however add the fact that all the colours I mentioned are a dime a dozen and found everywhere it gets kinda boring. Ibiza blue? not for me, I call it Subaru blue as almost all those WRX's you see are the same colour, again these are personal tastes. Personally I needed a change and the Montecito/ivory was my ticket this time around. I also tend to chose cars which the manufacturer deems the colour worthy of a world premier unveiling which was the case on the gen 1 Platinum/Black and now the Montecito/Ivory.

Personally I like all the interior leather colors well enough (I did have a rank order), but I couldn't get myself to like the blacked-out wood so I avoided the ivory.

+1
I thought I was set on the beige interior and found when I looked in person that the online pics of the beige were oversaturated and the pics of the gray were a bit bluer than life.

I keep cars for a long time. Therefore I tend to avoid the colors that jump out to me immediately but that there is a chance I will get tired of later. I really like the red version but I couldn't see me driving it long term. I have had several cars that are black and while they are pretty common on the road you can't go wrong over time. The Ibiza blue looked too young for me and the silver and grey cars while nice don't stand out as much.

Then I saw a Montecito blue. It just jumped out at me. It is almost as dark as the black but has a richness to the color that did it for me. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any of those in 5.0 ultimates in my area. I am waiting patiently to see if one pops up. If not I will probably go for black with a black interior.

As for interiors, I always like black but it gets hot. I think the ivory is a little too light for my tastes. I do like the gray interior. I like the wood color of the beige. But if a Montecito blue shows up I probably won't care about the interior color.

Damn, all this color talk now has me looking closer at the Montecito blue.

I was pretty fixed on black, but this thread got me to take a second look at that blue and it does look good. It looks wildly different on various sites, depending on the camera exposure. It may also be a color that helps show the lines of the car - black does not tend to be the best to highlight the lines of this new design. One clue is the Hyundai pictures which tend to pick colors which highlight the design.

Need to see one in person, but may be a convert....

Your wife thinks like mine - she says white, black, grey, brown, beige, silver are NOT colors. Red, blue, green, yellow etc. are colors. (Of course, Hyundai doesn't make green or yellow ones but ...)

I like the silver, especially for the long term. Montecito blue and the grays are also excellent.

As mentioned above, it is a personal choice. Here are MY personal thoughts and are not to be construed as to criticize anybody's car.

White is very easy to maintain. It can go for a while without a wash and then when you do wash it, it pops. After having a white car for 17 years, I was ready for a change.

Black is very classy and looks great. But in this class of car, I didn't want to look like a limousine. I also had a black car in Texas and in the summer it can be brutal. Covered at home, covered at work, not too bad maybe. You have to be a slave to it to keep it looking good.

The greys/silvers look good in the show room and in natural settings, but to me, on the road they tend to blend into the asphalt. Also, there seem to be a LOT of silver/grey cars out there.

Ibiza blue is my favorite shade of blue, but I have a 2013 Focus that is about the same color. I needed something a little different.

I was looking for the Pamplona Red or Manhattan brown. I loved the richness of those two colors.

As I said, I had a blue car and was looking for something different. When I got to the dealership, they had black and white AND this Montecito blue AWD that they had just received two days before. I was struck how rich the color was and that it wasn't just another dark blue hue. I liked the beige interior as a contrast to the blue. It just seemed classic to me. I was also looking for an AWD.

The two colors of blue do not compliment one another at all in the driveway but sometimes you just have to say; "What the hell"

I will say that I am not a fan of Hyundai's Marrakesh beige. If you have one, I'm sorry, but for me you would have to give a very big discount to get me into a car with that color.

I was really smitten with the Manhattan brown. When it is clean, the mica in it really pops. I don't know how it would look with a film a dirt and grime to kill the sparkle.

I saw my first Gen 2 in the wild and I think it was a Santiago silver. It was overcast and the car was not showroom clean and it really looked flat. The car wasn't dirty, mind you, just enough dust to kill the shine. If I had that color, it would be like having a black car. I would need to keep it clean and shiny all the time.

I don't know if the Manhattan brown would have the same problem or not.

White.

I fell in love with the Montecito blue and didn't want a black interior. My dealer located a Montecito Blue, 3.8,tech,AWD with a grey interior. I love it, but haven't noticed any other on this forum with that color combination. Is Montecito blue/grey a rare combination?

I get a lot of complements on my Pamplona Red

I run my car through the wash and then use a Turtle Wax "detail" spray-on polish. I spray it on and wipe it off. It takes less than 10 minutes and it really shows off the metallic feature in the paint.

I saw Wayne Carini on his TV show "Chassing Classic Cars", using a spray-on polish called "Crystal Mist". I found it on line for about $40 for a 16 oz bottle.
The Turtle Wax version is $11 at any auto parts store.

At first I didn't know what color I wanted. I didn't like the Black, because it didn't show off the lines of the car.

I had to drive a few miles to see it in Red. I was hooked. The dealer found the model I wanted in New York. It took about a week to make arrangements to get it here.

I told my wife that I really liked the Red and she was kind enough to accept my choice.

The only only other color I would consider is White. My neighbor has a 2013 in white and it has a classy look to it.

Good luck and good hunting.

Brian.

My neighbor a few blocks away (don't know him) must own a Hyundai dealership or be a big wig there as and he's cycled through three 2015's in his driveway so far: a Montecito Blue 3.8 AWD, a White 5.0 and now a black 5.0. To be honest, I like the black the least - to me, it makes the car look smaller and doesn't show the lines as well.

I was torn between the Pamplona Red and the Empire State Gray and ultimately went with the gray - and have no regrets. Funny thing is that after I settled on gray, my daughters and their friends said they were glad because the Pamplona Red was less "sporty" and looked like a car color that "old" people pick :)

But this is a subjective area - so pick what you like and makes you happy (but be sure to check out Empire State Gray in bright sunlight if it's on your list of possibilities!)

Not putting down gray but its the first time I've ever heard it said gray was sportier than red. Lol.

If you were really torn, you would start resembling Pamplona Red, and it would be a big mess requiring you to wash the blood off your car. So maybe you should get a car that matches your color and it won't look so dirty all the time.

Red, as in candy-apple red or ferrari red is definitely sporty - but Pamplona Red is more of a burgundy red - not the type of red you normally associate with a sports car. I like it too (almost bought it) - was just conveying what my early 20's/late teen daughters and their friends all said. But after seeing them side-by-side, I would say that the Empire State Gray does make the car look more agressive (at least to me).

We seen the Montectio Blue early on and fell in love with it. The color changes depended upon the sun. We walked out of a store yesterday and as we walked to the car it looked more gray than blue on an overcast day. All colors are awesome in person. If you want the Montectio Blue with beige interior, start looking now as it took me a month to find one.

It was the only one in the state of Florida at the time... Truly an amazing color combination.

Advice for all 2g shoppers: IMO, if you haven't seen the color you think you like in real life and in the sunshine, you haven't really seen that color. You may get a real surprise when you really do see it. :)
