  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How do you switch from mile to kilometer in the LCD display?

I had my Genesis shipped from the states to South Korea, of all places, and there is not much help available here to do the very basic conversion.

First of all, does anyone know how to switch from the mile to kilometer in the readout in the LCD display? (I'm not talking about the speedometer. The numbers are burned in in the speedometer, so I'm not looking to change any of that. I'm talking about the speed readout that you can show in the LCD.)

It looks like you can change the temperature unit in the settings menu (user manual 3-78), but not the speed unit.

Can anyone confirm? (This is such a basic feature that if there is no customizable setting for the speed unit conversion, I should suspect that Hyundai made it impossible intentionally.)

I don't know what trim you have, but have you tried checking in the navigation settings to see if it would change the units in the HUD if you have one? That's the only thing I can think of, I definitely haven't seen a km/h selection on the center LCD.

I checked my ultimate trim and being in Canada mine is metric and I see no way of getting miles on mine either. Only option may be if Hyundai can somehow reprogram the unit to metric.

In the mean time you may want to look into a portable HUD gps speedo. I have one in my F150 which came from the states so only mph on it and I need metric here. In the truck it actually looks cool, not too sure in the Genesis though. I don't understand that. One of my Buicks, it was the push of a button, handy when we went to Canada. Seems like many of us would benefit when border crossing.
