  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Different floor mats for RWD and AWD?

Okay, I'm jealous of the Canadian accessories again... I'd like more info on the Concealed Storage Trunk Tray. It is hard to see in the picture on the site.

In the US we have that block on top of the spare for the tools, but a concealed storage area would be kind of neat if it replaces the tool organizer and has additional space.

I sure looks like the unit sits on top of the styrofoam block and allows you to put stuff all around without having it bounce all over the metal bottom. Rather simplistic but does add a nice finishing touch. I will be ordering one today and will post some pictures when installed.

I know exactly what Weathertech is as I had them in my 2010 and 12. Also have them in my F150, my wifes Cube and my daughters Yaris. Basically a mix of plastic/rubber which makes them semi rigid for lack of a better word. The Hyundai ones are made the same way with high sides all around to form basically a bowl to contain water/slush but the finish is much better not to mention better looking. Yes they are cleaned easily and are very slip resistant unlike the Weathertechs. In the photo they look like they are of some type of carpeted material but this is a rubberized non slip surface which looks fantastic. As for durability I would think they are pretty close in comparison, only difference is the Hyundai ones do it in style. Not kicking Weathertech as they do make a great product but the car ends up looking like and old style pickup with vinyl floors, not exactly a luxury look if you know what I mean. ;) They do suit the F150 quite well though. :D

Ok - thanks, as the pictures were not clear as to the material on the Hyundai mats. We can't get the hyundai mats here in the US, but even if we could, I'd only drop them in during bad weather spells (as I will do with the WeatherTechs), as the regular carpeted ones are much nicer than either of these options.

Unfortunately our bad weather spells start in December and do not end until April. :o

Why I could never live in Canada - my longer term goal is to move where my main worry is white sand on my black mats :)

And the hurricanes not to mention the unbearable heat in the summer to go with the white sand? :D Actually I have a waterfront condo at Ft Myers Beach where we go when we need a break. Will be going down Oct 31. :D Best of both worlds IMHO. Could not live in a place with no seasons so to say. ;)

I just installed OEM all weather mats in my 3.8 AWD Tech Gen 2 & see that on the front passenger side the clips don't align. Went back to dealer and he said" it is what it is" The mat lays nicely but can't clip it in. Anyone know if Hyundai is addressing the "misfit" on OEM all weather mats for the AWD 3.8 Gen 2?

My OEM matts fit perfect. I would press your dealer into letting you see another pair to see if they fit.

I see you have the 5.0 engine. I have the 3.8 and prior discussions say the front passenger floor area on a 5.0 US car has a different footprint than the 3.8. That is why my clamps don't align up properly. My question is, is Hyundai coming out with a 3.8 all weather floor mat that fits properly for that engine.

You have the wrong mats! They should fit perfect mine do.

Please send me the SKU or part number. The problem I have is that the front passenger side OEM all weather mat "clips" don't line up with the mat holes. I see you also have the 3.8 AWD, so we should be in synch. My dealer said they only made one type of OEM mat and that was made for the 5.0 model, not 3.8. I need something concrete to show him that he is wrong. Thanks again.

This should be all your parts guy needs. A pic of the part number and a pic of the passenger mat laying over the carpet mat with the holes perfectly aligned in a 3.8 AWD. Sounds like you may have a set of RWD mats?
