  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

BlueLink and Remote Start

The heated/cooled seats can be made to turn on when the car starts. It does require some rewiring and a few tricks.

Ok are you going to share?

Do share. I can understand the rear seats defaulting to off, but I've had 6 cars with heated seats and this is the first to default off. Makes them somewhat useless on cold mornings.

I will include a PDF of my wiring diagram. I have 2 timer modules. The first module delays the activation of the second module until a few seconds after the car starts. This was required because the heated/cooled seats cannot be activated until just after the start of the car. The second module can only be briefly triggered, otherwise the heat/cool shuts down after starting. I mounted a single pole double throw switch with center off to the fuse panel door by the driver's knee (I bought a spare door first). That way, I can select high cool, high heat, or off as the default setting when the car starts.

I have a circuit diagram, but I can't figure out how to attach the PDF file to my post. I can also save it in JPG format. I can also email it to people.

I thought I would add a little more detail. The timers do the equivalent of pressing the heat or cool switch on the console for about 1-2 seconds. I could not get it to work with 1 timer because the timer triggered to close to starting the car. So, the first timer delays the trigger of the second timer long enough for the car to start.

Here is the wiring diagram.

Nice setup and would use it myself however since we do not get bluelink up here I am getting a remote start with Drone mobile connected which is basically an app that starts your car via cellular transmission through a smartphone. This nice thing is you can add auxillary switches which in this case could easily be hooked up to the heated/cooled seats and or open/close windows, rear defroster or really whatever you may like done remotely. This is Drone http://www.dronemobile.com

I have always had remote starts in my cars and use it most frequently in the winter to preheat and sometimes in the summer to cool down on those really hot days. I am still trying to figure out why Hyundai gave the bluelink a temperature control via remote except that it is a cool feature you can show off or bling bling if you prefer. The Genesis has automatic climate control like most any fully equipped vehicle out there even my wife's Nissan cube! Point is you set the temp to 72F and never touch it again. It auto-defrosts the front windshield if required and tuns on the heat or ac to accommodate the set temp. Why would you adjust this remotely as there really is no need to?

I don't think the remote start from dronemobile will be able to turn on the heated/cooled seats. That requires a momentary contact to a 12 volt wire with a resistor after a specific delay. I also like the heating/cooling to turn on each time i start the car. My circuit accomplishes this.
