  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just picked up my Genesis 3.8 Luxury pack today! I noticed that online and in the brochure, the luxury package does not come with the smart trunk feature. Seemed like a convenient feature to have. Great news, my car came with it! Was this a typo in their collateral? :)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Speaking of the Canadian Genesis, I am envious the V8 comes with AWD. I would have purchased that if it was an option in the USA.

To be honest with you Hyundai is horrible when it comes to accuracy of their information. The list they supply in their own brochure or on line at their website is so full of errors it seems like someone used some notes scribbled down on a napkin to produce the final product! Basically what is listed is an indication of what you MAY or MAY NOT get in the car you receive.

Here is the list of standard features for all Canadian models. Please take note the smart trunk is in fact not included on the luxury however it is! Oh, I hate to disappoint but it also says you get adaptive lighting but in reality you only get self levelling. http://www.hyundaicanada.com/pages/showroom/Specifications.aspx?model=genesis

So the US readers understand, the luxury Canadian is the model 1 notch up from the base model. Just curious but since you actually own a Canadian Luxury, can you tell me if it comes with real wood interior, lighted door sills, fog lights, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats. These are all items listed on their own list which you should have and is quite impressive compared to the stripped down version the US gets.

Those issues should be fixed on the website this week. To confirm, all Canadian Genesis models have Smart Trunk functionality. For models without the power trunk lid, the Smart Trunk feature simply unlatches the lid.

As for the 3.8 Luxury model, yes, all of those items are included.

Just curious but where are you getting your info from regarding the 3.8 Luxury. You seem to drive a 5.0 Ultimate. I told them about the adaptive lights monthS ago and nothing has changed.

You go on to say ALL Canadian Genesis have the smart trunk feature but then say "for models without the power trunk lid"? So which is it or am I not understanding something here?

To clarify my previous post, the Smart Trunk function and the power trunk lid (i.e. power-operated open/close) are mutually exclusive features. All Genesis sedans have Smart Trunk in that if you stand behind the trunk for three seconds, it will open. In cars without the power trunk lid, the lid unlatches (you then have to open it yourself). In cars with the power trunk lid, the trunk opens completely.

Thanks for the clarification but according to the specs on the Canadian site you with have a smart trunk or a power trunk not both. The way you describe this is you need to have both or the smart trunk will not open by itself. Maybe this is another error in the listing?

What's the deal with advertising adaptive lighting on all models when in fact it is not even available on the 5.0 Ultimate?

The Adaptive Lighting is an error which will be addressed today. Someone must have mistaken the Korean model's feature.

The Smart Trunk listing is also an error. Smart Trunk, the function which uses the proximity sensor to trigger the trunk mechanism, is standard. The power-operated trunk lid is only on 3.8 Tech and 5.0 Ultimate models.

Your car is beautiful, by the way. I've ordered about 18 Genesis so far, but none were Montecito Blue.

Thanks for the compliment and yes the color combo is just stunning.

While they are making corrections, please have them address the photo they use on both American and Canadian sites where they show the rear entertainment system in the armrest. We all know this is also only available in overseas markets.

PD705 is correct that the Smart Trunk feature only unlatches the trunk, but in my car at least the trunk lid does open fully. No power feature, but the spring assist seems to be strong enough to raise it up - at least until it gets a coating of ice & snow.:(
