  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New grille?

This is the closest pic I've ever found of how the grille would look on a Gen (duraflex's cheaper looking version IMO; no hood garnish):

I was planning on getting cmod's version last year but as soon as I was ready they didn't have it up anymore. They finally sent an email saying they had more in stock (I def didn't wait this time). I'm not sure why they would suddenly run out since there aren't many modded Gens in the US. But my guess is it's because they ship international.

An eBay seller did a Photoshop of marty5marty's car.

If anyone know....

1. Will these grills actually fit 2009 -2014?
2. Do they come flat black primed? (Ready to be color matched painted) or are they just black plastic?

Whats the 09 SCC grille? Anyone like the e&g grille? I want one of those too.

SCC Grille

Yeah, I just was checking part #s for the ECU and saw how to remove. I'm looking for something more minimal. The Prada is a bit heavy looking for me. I actually plan on doing something with the stock grille once it gets swapped.

I had entertained the idea of doing something similar to the emblemless grille on my G35 Sedan. Is this kind of what you were thinking about doing? Drastically improved the look of the G35... Sometimes I wish I wouldn't have sold it

Before...

After...

I'm just thinking of painting it differently, to be honest. I really like the look of the stock grille. The ones linked here are a cheap option for a nice change once and a while is all...

You could try plasti dipping the original grill for a more unique look as seen below.

Totally agree with you about most options looking cheap. I might modify my stock grill just to see how it looks since I already have a new one.

Best mod to a stock grille in my opinion is having it painted to match the car. Best when car is black.

Can you elaborate on the steps you took here? I think it look pretty neat.

You first have to remove the grill unless you wish to mask a large area of the Genny.
To remove grill:
First remove the plastic cover that stretches from headlight to headlight on he front of the engine bay. There are two 10mm bolts and 12 push button clips that need taken out for that. Then remove the two push button clips that hold the bumper cover to the Genny by the top corners of the grill. Now you will need a slim Philips head screw driver to remove the four screws that hold the grill to the bumper and you have it.

To paint the grill with plasti dip I masked of the areas that I wanted to stay silver and chrome and sprayed down a thick layer of plasti dip. The trick is to remove the masking quickly after painting so that you get a sharp paint line while the plasti dip is still wet.
