  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My Sirius radio will drop the station almost every time I back out of the garage. It drops to station 155. Every once in a while it will drop the station in an open area, after start up. Any one with similar problems, any solutions. This is a Genesis 3.8 2013.

One of three possibilities.
1) Bad Sirius receiver module
2) Bad Sirius antenna cable
3) Bad Sirius antenna

My hunch is #2 or #3. You could buy an aftermarket Sirius antenna for $20 and direct connect it to the Sirius receiver. I think the Sirius receiver is embedded in the radio module, but I am not 100% sure. If the problem goes away, you know what comes next.

Mine always drops out as I pull out of the garage which I assume is just a weak signal because the garage is obstructing. Same with an occasional, building, etc. The signal comes back as soon as I drive clear. This behavior has been the same with all satellite receivers I've ever had. Hopefully that's all that's going on with yours. :)

Thanks, I will take your suggestions to the dealer.

Couldnt find a more suitable category so Im posting this question here...

Does anyone know what the REC button does in the 2015 Ultimate do? Ive pushed it and it seems to do nothing... Am I missing something?

You could be getting interference from an outside signal. Do you have a "don't crush babies" sensor for your garage door? I've had traffic light sensors screw with mine on more than one occasion.

I'd say pay attention to where you are and what's around you when it's happening, maybe you'll find something around you that is interfering with it. Traffic lights, power sub station, factories , something like that.

But this is the 2009-2014 Genesis subforum. Surely you'd have better results asking people in the 2015 subforum that actually own a 2015, or your manual.
Maybe it's for recording a voice memo. Or if the button is with the HVAC stuff it's probably to recirculate the air

Yeah youre probably right. Didnt realize this was in the wrong forum at the time of posting. Shameful hanging head.......

Seattle... the REC button on the 2015 Sirius radio is not a real button. Rather, it is an indicator to let you know that the station is being recorded (in the background) to your hard drive, just like a Digital Video Recorder. You will see the REC indicator on most music stations. (Never seen it on a talk station). It allows you to "rewind" and play previous missed songs that were broadcast before you even tuned to the station! You will see the forward/reverse indicators below the song information.
