  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Howdy-

I don't know if this popped up recently (possibly in response to some settings adjustment that I made) or if this was here all along & I just now noticed it (quite possible).

On my 2012 sedan 5.0 R-Spec, what is the icon to the right of the Bluetooth logo? It looks like a tall & skinny trapezoid with a speaker in front of it & an X over the speaker.

It's not the "mute" (off) icon that shows when you push the volume knob in. This particular icon seems to always be on, regardless of what I'm doing.

Thanks,
-Jason

This sounds like something that happened to me years ago with my 2009 Genesis. I think it may be the voice for the GPS is muted. There is a voice command to un-mute it but I don't remember what it is. Look in the archives it is there somewhere.
First check to see if you have sound with your GPS.

That must be the icon for a different model, on the 2013 rspec, this is what the nav voice mute looks like. I can't stand the woman in the GPS trying to boss me around.

Yep. That's exactly what it is.

If you press the center button on the DIS (Pushing the DIS controller in) while the Navigation screen is open, it will open a menu on the side to let you choose if you want Voice On or Voice Off
