  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can someone either refer me to where in the owners manual it explains the tag function (I had difficulty locating it) or tell me the purpose and how it works? It displays while playing Sirius on the top right.

Thank you!

Check the index in the owner's manuals.

I tried that..didn't even find an index but rather a table of contents to no help. Anyone else know what the tag is about?

I didn't find any mention in the DIS manuals either, but Google is your friend! I found a relevant post on a Cadillac forum by searching "xm, tagging" and then tried it and it worked! Basically, it transfers the songs you tag to the iTunes store via your connected iPod/iPhone when you synch so you can purchase if you want to. I tagged a few songs as a test with my iPhone connected via the USB to the car (so not sure it it works via Bluetooth connection!). Here's the scoop on how you use it:

  • Hit the "tag" button while listening to a song in XM that you might want to purchase
  • You'll see a message to the extent of "song tag sent to iPod" (I forget the exact message?)
  • Open iTunes and synch your phone (I connected it to my computer via USB)
  • Go to the iTunes Store
  • Click on Playlists (top/middle of screen)
  • In the Playlist "tree" on the left side, you will see a Playlist named "Tagged".
  • Click on the Tagged Playlist and you will see a list of the songs you tagged and the direct option to buy them as per the screen grab below
  • That's it - cool feature!

I can't answer this for sure, but from another source discussing the siriusxm APP and the concept of tagging, "Easily and quickly purchase music available from iTunes heard on SiriusXM, or add favorite songs to the shopping cart integrated into the App, by tagging them for later purchase."

Otherwise, take a picture and upload it ...?

Sorry: Nikgen got there first and better but I didn't refresh thread before posting!

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain, post a pic and show the procedure. That's my idea of a great forum helper! Pretty cool feature...worked for me as well. Thanks again!

No problem - you peaked my interest with your post - and I'm the kind of person that nagging questions need to be answered or they drive me nuts. So, helping you helped me too :)

Ditto - ^^^ Every time I read a question on here and check the manual to grab a screen shot to post, I learn something new.

Agreed- The manual is usually pretty good. Unfortuanately, the Sirius XM tag function, is not an example of this being the case :(. The tag function is not covered at all from what I could find. Thanks to Google and a Cadillac forum we got an answer!
