  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Now that many parts of the country have had significant snow, does using the "snow"mode help?

It does work to help prevent wheelspin - but best only used in really severe conditions as it significantly retards throttle response. You would not want to stay in snow mode for general driving.

My 1st day in the car with 5 cm of snow. Car handled very well without the Snow Mode, held the road well with excess snow into some corners.

Snow Mode sets the AWD at default 50:50 front/rear (although it will adjust according to traction), gets you into a higher gear as soon as possible, slows the throttle response significantly and sets the traction control system to respond earlier. Works great on snow & ice covered roads or for getting going in deep snow, but as mentioned not good on dry roads due to the slow throttle.

i like snow mode.. Eco mode should be 50% of what snow mode is instead of whatever programming it has now(waste in my opinion and i've gotten my best mpg's using snow mode (

Makes sense. Higher gearing and softer throttle response will benefit mileage.
