If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just picked up a 2014 Rspec in Casablanca White, and this car/color gets comments everywhere I go. It pairs so good with the car IMO.

As for the Manhattan Brown, I just got sold my 2014 Q50s in Chestnut Bronze (VERY similar color), and while I loved the color up front, I grew tired of it pretty quick, and it just became BROWN. Whatever I guess, just my .02.

See Casablanca White:

Well I ended up getting a V8 in Casablanca White. I know I kept saying I was going to wait for the 2016s, but my Hyundai Assurance trade-in guarantee was about to fall from one tier to another (dropping almost 2 grand in trade-in value), and it just so happens there was a dealer in the Houston Metro area that had the color and features I wanted on a vehicle that had 18 miles on it. I have a little more than 300 on it now.

So far all I've done is tint and rear wing, but I have a ton of mods to do. I need to get my amp, my subwoofers, and my radar detectors installed; I feel naked driving around without them. I'd forgotten what a stock sound system sounds like and am missing the subwoofers tremendously. In any case, it was sad to walk away from the old girl, but if you're looking for a used, garage-kept, 2012 5.0 Genesis was fed synthetic oil from the first oil change, well, here ya' go.

Incidentally my car was built 11/14 2014, and the DRLs are still amber; I saw something mentioned earlier that it was being changed on the production line; well it's not yet (though I will be making my own change very soon). One funny thing is I was in Seoul in late September and had a chance to visit one of the Hyundai Steel plants. There's a very remote (as in hitting the lottery level of likelihood, but still) chance that I saw the steel for my car being rolled! Yeah I know due to JIT production that the steel I saw was probably used within a week or two or manufacture, but the time frames are not completely unreasonable (though, as I said, highly unlikely). It's a cool thought though, so I'm going to run with it (puts hands in ears and starts screaming "la la la la la I can't hear you!!!").

With all due respect to the individual choices others have made, in my humble opinion the new Genesis still looks best in Casablanca White (especially with the dark full moonroof). My dichotomy with that is that ivory is my favorite interior color, but in the USA anyway, the ivory interior is only available in exterior colors of Caspian Black, Montecito and Ibiza blue. Of the three, black would probably be my choice, but a) it's just so common, and b) my current Genesis is black; it would be nice to change things up a bit. I've got some time to decide this as I'm waiting for next year's model, but I just thought I'd get some feedback just for fun.

I have the black with the ivory interior. I like it but would have preferred black on black. I really like the Ibiza/Ivory combo. They only had that combo in the V6 on the lot and I wanted the V8 and didn't want to wait 3 months.

Edit: lol - didn't realize how old this thread was. Oh well, my opinion still stands :)

Aquineas: Congrats on your Casablanca Genny! I am still torn about color and I have a Casablanca white w/tan interior 5.0 also. I wish I would have gotten a black interior now. What was I thinking?? haha

I'm looking forward to hearing how you change the amber DRLs in the 5.0. A while back I read that long thread on how to change the DRLs on a 3.8, but I was wondering if it was the same process for the 5.0. Either way, it sounded waaaaaay to complicated for me. haha (wiring, tight space to change bulbs)

All I know is I hate the amber DRL's. I really do! I can't wait to see your's. Maybe I can pay you to do mine or you let me know where you get your's done. ( my hubby is not handy with cars whatsoever) ;)

BTW, what color interior did you get?

lol NOW you tell me! I went with the beige interior as well. Our cars are twins!

I'm going with Schindawg's solution, which is to use the Korean Domestic Market OEM lights. It's very pricey, but to me it seems "the cleanest" and most reliable:

As far as installation, when I get them, if I were any good at that kind of thing I'd be more than happy to help, but sadly I'm probably worse with cars than your hubby; I don't even change my own oil :D. I'm taking mine to the dealer.

Montecito Blue all the way... This color changes depending on the amount of light there is. Just my 2 cents... :D

It does look great and was one of the finalists.

Congrats on the car Aquineas.

I know you were holding out in part based on CarPlay availability, but that feature seems like such a moving target now. Seems like the right call to jump considering your financial incentive expiring and warm weather just around the corner. Assume it was an Ultimate?

Thank you kindly! I did end up getting the Ultimate. There's a lot to learn with this car lol.

LOL...I knoooow. I was so hard headed! I knew better! I just looked so COOL. I have never had a light interior. You have to be way too careful. Yes, I always keep my interior very neat & clean, but this takes it to a new level. Ugh....

Wow! That looks great! You're right very pricey it is! Especially for my lease. hehe Oh well, until a cheaper solution comes up. I'll just have to wait until my lease expires.

You are too funny. Yes, that would definitely be a job for the dealer at that price. ;)

HEY_GURL, I have a question for you since you're in the Houston area. Is your Genesis set to update the time based on GPS? When I had this selected, it mistakenly set my time an hour later than it should be.
