  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have no problem using bluelink's remote start to start the vehicle reliably. If it's just me I go out, unlock the car, get in and drive off.

A lot of the time I am putting my kids in their car seats in the back, and it the car turns off after just 3-4 minutes of total run time instead of the 10 minutes I have it set to. I suspect it's due to my key coming within proximity of the interior and then leaving it, despite my hip/pocket area not actually crossing into the interior space (but instead being very very close to it.)

Seems like a poor design choice by Hyundai if that's the way it's supposed to operate.

Anyone else in a similar situation (not just getting in and driving off) experience this or does my car have a problem?

Agreed, it is rather annoying.. :(

With my R-Spec the car switches off after 60 seconds if any door is opened!
To go around this issue, I have learned to open driver door, just tap the breaks without getting in the car and proceed to put kids/anything else in the rear seats. Not ideal but works for me...

Thank you! I'll tap on the brakes after unlocking it but before getting the kids in & hope that does the trick. Appreciate the tip.

Anytime and you are most welcome ...
Please do share you findings, so other 2015+ members may reference this thread should this question comes up again.

I simply leave my fob resting on the console if I need to run back into the house and grab something. And don't worry if you forget to put it back in your pocket when you get to your destination as it won't let you lock your car with it inside.

I am liking my after market Drone Mobile more and more. Way too many nanny features on the Hyundai version. It's not like I had a choice since we Canadians do not get the Bluelink stuff up here on any Hyundai.

I am located in Canada so I assume it is cheaper in the States. Install was $600 with 3 months of remote service which includes the Drone unit and remote start. The remote service is $50/year for the basic package which is start stop lock unlock. Premium package will give you tracking capability, car temp, battery voltage and a few other goodies. Both plans are available in 3 year versions which cuts the basic down to $119 for 3 years which is the way to go IMHO. Regardless, it will eventually pay off as I think Hyundai charges upwards of $100 a year if I am not mistaken. http://www.dronemobile.com

Tapping the brakes works perfectly. I was even able to head back inside to grab something; it sounded the warning tone but stayed on.

Thank you!

Another suggestion that works for me is to always open the drivers door and leave it ajar and then you can go about your business. Seems to shut the car off if I do anything else before this step. Thanks.
