If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello All!

On February 25, 2015 I've received an email offer to renew BlueLink remote package with 35% discount for one year. I didn't respond to it, and it expired on March 11.

Today I've received another offer, this time with 50% discount.

I'm wondering, if I skip this one, are they gonna offer me even better discount or that's the bottom? Did anyone achieve discount beyond 50%?

Also, what would happen when my Connected Care (that I find pretty useless) expires in November 2015? I've read that Connected Care should be active in order to use Remote package. And since the 50% discount applies only to one-time 12 months payment of $49.50 (you can't pay monthly at the discounted rate), I will have expired Connected Care with a few already prepaid months left on Remote package. Will Hyundai credit the remaining balance or offer some other solution?

Thanks in advance for all of the input.

Can you post a pic or link to the coupon??

Can you post a pic or link to the coupon??

• Log into MyHyundai.com
• Select 'Subscription'
• Select 'Change my Package'
• Scroll to the bottom of the page and enter the Promo Code RP50P142
• Select 'Apply' to view all packages and pricing
• Once you have selected the desired package, click 'Next' to complete the purchase process

It might be VIN-related. If code won't work for you, try to call 877-240-3343 and mention 50 REMOTE when talking to the agent.

If you will have to call, could you please ask the agent about Connected Care requirement for the duration of Remote package subscription (described in my original post).

Good luck!

I believe 50% is the maximum discount they offer.

Yea i think it is required. :(

"The Connected Care package is required to maintain Hyundai Blue Link services. The Remote term selected exceeds the Connected Care term."

The code is only for your car. I will give them a call later and see if I can get the 50% off.

thanks!!

You must have connected care package to utilize any of the other two packages. To me, the only benefit to Bluelink, aside from accident notification, are the features of the remote package. Too bad, you cannot select and pay ONLY for what you want.. a la carte style.

Same here. Then I'll let Hyundai keep their paid services. They compare Genny to Germans, but Germans extend their free services (at least for the first 3-4 years), while Hyundai only increases the price with the crappy reliability. My car didn't remote start 1 time out of 3, and after two visits with the brand new car to the service and numerous calls to the customer service, they want me to pay for it $200 per year. Crazy.

http://autos.jdpower.com/content/bl...free-blue-link-services-to-new-car-buyers.htm I'm wondering what happened with this program from 2013. Greed?

Using the Genesis app, my car has started every time. My car is also parked in the garage.

It works with Verizon or Tmobile cell service, so if you have bad coverage in your area. It won't work as well.

How many times did you use remote start overall? I was using it for 3 months at least twice a day. Considering your car is parked in the garage, what's your stats?

Oh, I see. That might be AT&T or Wi-Fi I'm using that's not on your list of supported services.
On a serious note, when you get message like this:

Remote service is currently unavailable. Your request for REMOTE START on 01/15/2015 09:12 am US/Eastern was not processed. Please try again later.

it has nothing to do with the coverage. It means they received my request and didn't process it for the reasons only known to Hyundai.

It worked for weeks, then didn't work a few days, than worked in the morning, but not in the evening. Customer service and dealers approach are horrible, reps don't know a thing etc.
If it won't improve until the end of my lease, I would probably return to Germans. At least they treat you according to the price you've paid for the car.

I think the bluelink service is over priced. Comparing it with KIA uvo system in which you can use google search free of charge of course if ur phone is connected which is fine. While in Hyundai you have to pay $200 in order to get google search feature :(

So I can get "free services" for only an additional $15k or so for a comparable car, or pay $200 per year. Hmmm, let me think.....

Sure, and to be honest I don't mind the fee so much for connected care and remote. Both require ongoing investment in personnel and servers for them to maintain. Connected search is kinda ridiculous though. There are 2 parts to it, send to my car from the app does use their servers, but it is such limited use, it should have been thrown in with Remote. using the feature from the car can use your phone data connection. If they aren't doing it that way, they should be.

I use it at least 2-4 times a day for the past month or so. I think only once or twice it did not work.

With KIA (that uses the same hardware) you get very convenient option to send locations to your car directly from Google Maps API (Send to Car option), while with Hyundai you are forced to use proprietary app or website.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

That would be a hypocrisy to say that "free services" is the only difference. That comes from BMW loyal customer owning first Hyundai without regret (so far).
Also, it's $300, not $200 per year to get a full package.
And how much and where should I pay to get corresponding level of service?

Look, I'm not trying to trash H. I'm pretty happy with the car. You just have to admit that there are certain areas that need to be improved to be on par with other luxury car manufacturers.

If I decided to save some money and sacrifice badge and other pleasant features of premium brands, why would you expect me to pay almost $1000 for something, that doesn't work flawlessly? Why would you advertise those services as free, and when the product finally gets into the dealerships, switch it to a paid option? Those are questions to H, by the way.

+1. Google search and car's NAV are totally disconnected. When you find something with G-search and send it to car (or find through car interface), it gets transferred to NAV using coordinates, not an actual address. And coordinates in Genny NAV (and, possibly, in Google Maps), are not perfect.

I used it once when supposedly new 2015 NAV wasn't able to find HomeDepot in NYC metro area that was there for decades. Google search found it, but in the process of transferring destination to NAV with approximation (because coordinates showed the middle of the wood) I ended up on the other side of the highway, and it took me good 10 minutes to find a U-turn.

I don't say other vehicles NAVs are superb. It's just the combination of paid subscription requirement with awkward data transfer algorithm that makes this service irrelevant to me.

If H would be able to match an accuracy of setting the destination in car's NAV for POIs received from Google Search at the same level it was offered on BMW for at least 4 years free of charge, I would probably pay for it.

I was talking about November 2014 - February 2015. It is possible that they finally improved something. I have to admit that it was very stable during last 2 weeks of my trial in February. Yet I called them numerous times and had to visit dealership twice to no avail before that. Nobody had any clue.

I meant the car uses Verizon or Tmo service.

It wasn't clear. I live in NYC metro area. The coverage is superb for all 3 major carriers. Car was always outside with unobstructed sky and no tall buildings around.

My car has started every time via app. Not sure I want to pay $200 for the service, but living in South Florida (Miami) it sure is nice to come out to a cool car in the middle of the summer. That in and of itself makes this priceless! I may have just answered my own question/ doubts!

I won't use remote start, and I can read maps. What I really like is the traffic on the NAV screen. What service does that use?

For some reason it won't show surface street traffic even though I enabled it.
