Seems ironic that a car that probably has a few hundred extra pounds of sound deadening and is the quietest in it's class, needs a louder exhaust![]()

+1. I have a Borla system on my 2002 TA (last year they were made) and my hearing has suffered as a result. I'm delighted with the quiet cabin of the 5.0. Guess the fact that I'm officially now an "old fart" might have something to do with it!
Enhancing/tuning a vehicles exhaust note all started [for us old farts] with cloths pins holding playing cards on the front forks of our bicycles so that the cards would clatter against the wheel spokes when we rode. The more sound you could generate - the faster you thought you were going. Didn't take long before we added cards to the back wheel too. We all knew that more sound equaled more power.
Seems the good folks at Magnaflow and Borla figured this out many years ago. Some of the guys riding motorcycles use straight unbaffled pipes instead of playing cards in pretty much the same way.
Is that why s63s snap crackle and pop. Some people like to have their cake and eat it too.For everyone's listening pleasure, test drive a Tesla Model S. When you stomp the go pedal in a Model S all you're going hear are your passengers yelling, "Damn, do that again!". As mentioned above, quality sedans should be quiet. Want noise? I'll take you for a ride in a 427 Cobra. Now that's (outstanding) noise

Just to clarify, are you referring to some sort of life hack or trick involving a rolled-up sock and a balled-up deck of cards?A rolled up sock is time tested and remains popularbut nothing beats a balled up deck of cards for firmness
