  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So first let me say ... what a great car! Unfortunately my father has grown ill and no longer can enjoy his 5.0 Ultimate. The car is Pristine with only 4000 Palm Springs Miles on it.

I am tasked with selling it but am seeing crazy Prices... as in Crazy low...

Actually had the original dealer offer me 35k!!! thats a $20,000 loss in 4 Months. I just cant believe that this car can drop that fast! wondering what others are seeing and if you bought a used one, what you paid. Car is Metallic Burgundy / Grey leather with tinted windows ...stunning

Picked mine up for $42,400 last Sunday. 2015 black/ivory 5.0 ultimate with 3917 miles. Lovin it!

Try CarMax...

First off, sorry to hear about your father.

According to Truecar, a new 5.0 Ultimate in Palm Springs can be had for $48,416 new. Offering to sell back a used one to a dealership, who then will want to turn around to make a $4-$5k profit, for anything significantly more than $35k is unlikely.

If prices are that low, keep it and enjoy it. It is a great car as you know. Sorry about your father. Best bet would be carmax but you might not see a substantial difference from your dealer. You could sell it privately which would bring it over $40K I believe.

dhayek,
I am interested in purchasing...and we should connect to see if it makes sense and it can be a win win. Though I am not in Florida, i have a brother-in-law in Ft Lauderdale who can do the deal for me; and i will get the car from him in the next few months.
Pls contact me and we can talk.
Thanks

Sorry about your father. I think the dealer smells blood in the water and desperation. Go back on another day and see what they offer on it as a trade in.

This sound like a dealer with which you really don't want to be dealing. If he financed the car, how much is the nut?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Hyundai still has two big problems in the luxury market. The first is market opinion of the brand, many people still see Hyundai and immediately think 'Pony'. This directly drives the second problem and that is resale. In this class the Genesis has the most depreciation.

The one twist to the depreciation issue is that several of the cars at the top of some of the latest depreciation lists happen to also be cars whose models significantly refreshed in 2015. The Genesis is one of those whose past history is not great, but may take a few years to see how the new model fares in resale.
