So after backing out on the 12' that had a new short block and losing out on the used 13' with 13k miles I ended up buying a new 14' R-spec in white with tan and brown interior. I like the black interior much better but the wife liked the tan (and this is her car after all.) So I got them down to 37k. Maybe not the deal of the century but I think it was a good solid price for it.
So I am debaging the H off the trunk lid tonight and ordered the winged badges for the trunk, hood, steering wheel, and rim logos. I have an appointment to get the windows tinted in 2 weeks and now doing research on mufflers. The car is very fun to drive. Turning of the ESC doesn't seem to totally turn it off. It will spin for a bit then the computer kicks in and stops it. Is that normal? Still trying to figure out the electronics inside. I don't see how to check the mileage (or change anything in the center of the speedo.) All it says is ECO off. So I need to spend some time reading the manual.
We are coming from a 2013 Cadillac XTS. The caddy was a nice combination of comfort and performance. Overall for comfort I would give the nod to the caddy but for performance it is not even a question that the Genesis wins hands down. Getting use to the dial in the center over a touch screen will be an adjustment. The CUE always gets bashed but ours has been flawless and is super simple to use. We have 2 more months of the lease left on the Caddy and I wont miss it when its gone with replacing it with the R-SPEC. I looked at a lot of cars before buying this and driving it to work to today made me smile.
