  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

3.8 or 5.0 observation

Every vehicle that I purchase I always get every option so down the road I'll never have any regrets about any missing options.

I agree, but here in the US it's either AWD or 5.0 and that's a hard choice! :( Maybe in a year or two we won't have to choose one or the other and we'll be able to have both.

IMO, wasn't a hard choice for me. Like I previously wrote, Bridgestone Blizzaks on all tires. The car goes good through the snow and I have the 5.0 to have fun in the nice weather.

Yeah, but I don't have the patience or the space to deal with different tires for different seasons. :(

Different strokes for different folks, guys. Nobody's right or wrong. It's a personal decision.

As for all wheel drive and a twin turbo V8 - I'm all for it!

Hence is why I wrote IMO.

License Ford Aluminium tech, rest of car on diet too, lose 1,000lbs, keep it under $60k. Would be amazing... Many have Fantasy Football, I get to have fantasy Genesis game.

I like the longer range between gas stops of the 3.8. Without getting too close to empty, I can buy less expensive gas in SC, VA, and PA on long trips from FL to NY.

H.G. Check under the hood on the V8 - almost perfectly symmetrical and black, too - air filters for each bank.

Looks like something out of star wars.

I grew up on V8's, but never saw one like the 5.0.

You would like it!

That would be great. Even 500 pounds would be a major accomplishment and greatly change the way the car performs and uses gas...

Yeah, me too. I hope there's a hybrid option for the Genesis some day soon...

I'm sure I'd love it. No question...

Changing all 4 tires/wheels on a Genesis is pretty quick, especially if you have an impact wrench to remove the lug nuts. Takes me no more than 30 minutes for all 4.

For storage, this. Mounted in the back wall of the garage, doesn't affect any car space.

Survived the worst winter ever in MA with RWD, snows, and a few 40lb bags of water softener salt in the trunk.

The dealership stores my tires for me. I reside in the Berkshires in MA. Plenty of snow this past winter and the car was good in the snow.
