  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do I really have to push Accept every friggin time?

It does become second nature. Its like, get in -> start car -> press down on DIS knob -> buckle up -> leave.

It just becomes part of starting the car after a little.

What a relief. Since I have no idea what folder repeat is - it never annoys me.
I play music from a USB stick. The interface allows one to shuffle a folder, repeat a folder, etc. But the settings don't stick between car starts.

But, if I take out the USB stick, add songs, folders, etc. and put it back in, the song that was playing will resume exactly where it left off. Go figure.

My warning in my car goes away after like 15 seconds. Am I the only one?

So does mine - I think - I haven't timed it.

But, I don't get "used to" nanny warnings - especially in a rather pricy product that I paid for. They just irritate me more.

Idea! They could put the warning in the owner's manual at page 5-9 where they tell you to wear proper shoes when driving the genny.

I certainly would not let it bother me then...

What model year/trim package? I know that mine does not go away until I press the DIS button.

My former '11 Acura TL Tech did the same thing. It's a VERY small price to pay to have a fully functioning Nav/Audio system while the car is in motion.

In my '15 Coupe Ultimate, it's gone by the time I buckle up and get in gear.

I'm pretty sure the new Sedan has a unique system to the Coupe AND even to the first generation Sedan... But the way yours works - that's the way it should be. I wonder if the "lawyers" have made it more complicated to get out of - where you actually need to interact with it and "agree" every single time. I hope not. But - worst case scenario - it's something we'd all get used to and overlook in time...

In the new sedans, Ultimate version anyway, there is a setting in the menus that can be set to have the Accept show for only 10 seconds.

I remember seeing this and making the setting, but looking through the softcopy and hardcopy manuals I can't find where it's hidden.

I'm still surprised, that by now, somebody hasn't "hacked" the software/firmware to put the kibosh on the warning. The car is yours.

A removable sticker would have been nice - but mandatory nanny warnings are not my piece of cake.

Modifying the vehicles software will be illegal if the auto industry gets its way. They want to apply the DMCA to automobiles and other items with electronics.

Interesting - I read about the Tesla controversy - this is yet another example of "lawyer engineering". The "AV warning" is actually unsafe - you don't need something like that distracting you when you are starting your car and heading out.

They should put that warning, and all the other "nanny" warnings in the owner's manual, in a nice throwaway pamphlet.

I just tried; drove it around the block for ~5min. and it didn't go away.

^^^ This is exactly what I do! ..........except the "buckle up" thing :D

I'm nominating this for post of the year. ;)

The push button start is too much effort as well. It should know to start when we get in the car.
</sarcasm>

Craig, you almost made me fall off my chair. :D

I have left mine for 30 minutes or more. It absolutely does NOT go away. The only way for Hyundai to allow use in operation (full functionality) - The lawyers made them get an "acknowledgement" from the operator.

I hear they're changing the system to make it more user friendly in the 2016 Genesis. Every time you get in the car, as long as you say, exactly, "I promise I won't use the navigation screen while I'm driving and if I do and get into an accident I wont sue anyone". Once you've recited that little prayer - you're good to go and the warning disappears from the screen.

Just for the record, on my '12 Premium package touchscreen car the AGREE button only appears if you access the Nav. If you use radio, AM/FM, phone, or Aux there is no need to press the AGREE button since it does not appear and freeze the display.

Bwahahaha!! That is hilarious!!! :p

As posted earlier in this thread:

There is a setting on the 2015 Ultimate 9.2" screen to make it go away in 10 seconds.

From the HOME screen, select SETTINGS, select GENERAL, check the AGREEMENT SCREEN.
