  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Chrysler 200 is our mini me......

While I believe they look nothing alike, even if they did, I would never touch a Chrysler product.

While I would have generally agreed in the past, the new Chrysler 300 is not bad. Drove a recent rental and was surprisingly impressed with the drive and the 2015 reviews have been good.

When new, almost any car made today is going to be decent, and many possibly impressive. I try to look at the way its made, quality of parts, engineered, put together. And then I ask myself: Will this car still be impressive 8 years from now.

There is nothing in the Chrysler stable that I could honestly answer with a yes.

I think it's mainly the badge that confuses people. Not so much the design. If you took the badges off both cars I don't think anyone would confuse any Chrysler model with a Hyundai model.

The Chrysler emblem is much longer and narrower than the Genesis. When you look at both emblems side by side, they look absolutely nothing alike. Then again, most of the motoring public has zero attention to detail pretty much about anything automotive related, so this doesn't surprise me.

I'm a car nut so I can tell which winged-badge is which without the name being on it. But most people, as you mentioned, cannot. But can you agree that there's more similarity between the Genesis and Chrysler badge than the actual cars themselves?

IMO, the emblems, as well as the cars don't look alike at all. To me, the only thing the emblems have in common is the placement on each vehicle.

It's a winged-emblem. People see a winged emblem and either think it's a Bentley, or more commonly, a Chrysler. That's pretty much it. That's why people associate the Genesis with a Chrysler. Not because the cars look alike. Because the badges have a similarity and people just assume it's a new Chrysler with an updated wing emblem.

I am well aware of what emblems these cars have. However, IMO the shape of each emblem doesn't look anything alike.

I don't want to belabor the point, but this discussion centers on what casual observers mistake a Genesis for, based on the winged emblem. A passerby (who is typically not a car enthusiast) does not have the benefit of side-by-side emblem comparisons like in the photos I posted, they are instead relying on memory of general shapes and features. So when they see wings, they often think of Chyslers or other brands that have this trait.

But you're sure welcome to your opinion, flawed as it is with abundant anecdotal evidence.

You and I will just agree to disagree. However, I feel most of the members here will also follow suit. To each his/her own. I'm not the type to debate just for the sake of debating so I don't know why I even spent this much time on the topic. A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still...

People were writing their observations and not debating anything. Folks give their opinions and hence why I wrote IMO when writing my opinion. Nothing at all to debate.

Not flawed. It's called attention to detail.

I agree. My mistake and my apologies. Have a good night.

I'm just talking about similarities between body lines and styling, ie. headlights trunk shape and shape of the exterior body linesr. I've never seen the interior. This was by no means evaluating quality or fit and finish or which car is better..... Just an observation of similar styling. I truly believe our car is a much superior vechicle and love it and all of its features not to mention the bang for the buck it outstanding!!! Because I debadged, swappwped the H for the wings and added fog lights so I get asked all the time " hey what kind of car is that? I admit it feels good and the best part is there aren't many in my area.
