  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

BlueLink promo/discount from Hyundai

Traffic on the nav screen is XM, it isn't a blue link thing.

My car has started every time via app. Not sure I want to pay $200 for the service, but living in South Florida (Miami) it sure is nice to come out to a cool car in the middle of the summer. That in and of itself makes this priceless! I may have just answered my own question/ doubts!

That is exactly why I am going to pay for remote. That capability was what allowed me to justify black car/black interior living in Texas.

How long of free xm traffic do we get? I bought the car in August, xm radio seems to have expired, judging by the amount of junk in my mail, but traffic still works, badly albeit, waze or Google maps traffic is so much superior.

3 years, if I am correct...

I've pulled the trigger yesterday with this 50% discount offer for Remote package since otherwise it would expire today.

1. I've applied the coupon on the Hyundai website subscription renewal page, and had no problem with Remote package prepaid period overlapping the existing trial of Connected Care.
2. I called BlueLink to make sure that it wouldn't shut down when my Connected Care trial expires.
3. With rep on the phone I purchased it on the website, and a minute later received a verbal confirmation that it will last for full 12 months.

CtK, have you tried to get a discount over the phone?

I have not, i was gonna wait till my free 3 months is almost up to give em a call. But i will give it a shot.

Is anyone getting any promo codes these days? My 3-month free trial ended this Saturday and I did not receive any codes via email and I would like to keep the remote package...

I got my first 35% discount offer 10 days after the expiration of the trial. 50% discount offer arrived 23 days later.

Good luck!

Why was it discounted? Did you call them in advance to confirm the rate?

Nope, I just received an email titled "It is almost time". The email said...

"Chau, your Hyundai Blue Link® subscription for your 2015 Genesis will automatically renew with the credit card you have on file : Disc **** $148.22."

Never replied or called about it.

Yeah that was the deal when I purchased car and activated trial 3 months. That auto renew is actually for 9 months to put the expiration date for remote and location subscription in sync with the connected care 1 year trial. At least that is what my account shows.

Ya I think you are correct. I only have 8 months left. Renewel is 3/2/16. I bought my car 2/28/15.

Still got a little discount. :)

Mine automatically renews next week but only till end of customer care promo. I plan to cancel all after next trip. Haven't found $300 worth of value in my situation, or even $150.

I use the remote start everyday, sometimes 2-4x a day.

I would like to just pay for that, but they require you also get the Connected Care package as well. :(

How many times did you use remote start overall? I was using it for 3 months at least twice a day. Considering your car is parked in the garage, what's your stats?

Oh, I see. That might be AT&T or Wi-Fi I'm using that's not on your list of supported services.
On a serious note, when you get message like this:

Remote service is currently unavailable. Your request for REMOTE START on 01/15/2015 09:12 am US/Eastern was not processed. Please try again later.

it has nothing to do with the coverage. It means they received my request and didn't process it for the reasons only known to Hyundai.

It worked for weeks, then didn't work a few days, than worked in the morning, but not in the evening. Customer service and dealers approach are horrible, reps don't know a thing etc.
If it won't improve until the end of my lease, I would probably return to Germans. At least they treat you according to the price you've paid for the car.

Obviously you did not have a Benz with the "best or nothing" Bosch SBC pressurized braking system. I would NEVER buy another Benz.

I believe the network used is Sprint (see sources below). If you don't have a good Sprint signal, Hyundai won't be able to process the action. The error you received was Hyundai's servers getting your request but being unable to send it to your car, which could be due to Sprint connectivity in your car's location. The one failure I've seen on my car was the same message and my car was parked in one of the infamous Sprint deadspots in Virginia.

Bluelink is only as good as the system it's connected to. Sprint has a huge bonus behind being available in many urban and rural areas, though the speeds are abysmal.

To me it is worth it for just having the Google Search function. Thanks to for the heads up on the discounts.

My subscription expired toward the end of April and I still haven't received anything from Hyundai regarding it. I called and inquired about a discount or how to obtain a promo code to use on the website and the rep say they don't give out random promo codes and they are associated with the VIN. Oh well I won't renew until I get a discount, otherwise I'll enjoy the remote lol.
