Empire State vs Parisian

I'm debating between the two colors and having a lot of trouble distinguishing the differences other than Empire State is a bit darker. Can anyone help with describing the colors and major differences?

Attached is a photo that I believe compares the two, and there seems to be quite a contrast as Empire State looks smokier and more metallic. Is Empire State on the far left and Parisian in the center front? Or is a comparison of Parisian and Santiago?

I debated this recently and went with the empire state. Both are really nice colors, Parisian has a touch of blue and is lighter overall. Empire is darker, more of a true grey and seems to have more metallic flake. As I was picking up my car there was a Parisian parked nearby and I was still debating my choice.

At the end of the day both are nice. I've been pleased with the Empire state color and have not regretted it, although I would have probably felt the same with parisian. Flip a coin or see which one is cheaper?

I feel like depending on the light and photos they can look almost identical.

For these attached photos - I believe it's Parisian, but look awfully similar to Empire State.

I think the first is empire and the second parisian. hard to tell though. I noticed parisian seems to change color more in different light and angles, maybe because it is lighter and has some blue in it?

Those are pics of Korean Domestic models. There "may" be differences between the colors on KDM and USA models. Go online and find a dealer that has those colors in stock (regardless of trim level) and go check them out.

Agreed. You need to see the colors in person, in sun and in shade to make a decision. I have Montecito blue and it has a different personality based on different lighting conditions. I saw a gray Genesis on a cloudy day that really looked dull. I don't know what color of gray it was. It could have been Santiago silver too, I don't know.

It looks like a medium teal blue. In the sun the mica comes out with a opalescent effect. One of the grays has the same effect with less blue.

Both are very similar in color, but Parisian Grey seems to change based on the lighting conditions. Sometimes you see the blue and others, more so the grey. I originally went in thinking I wanted the Empire State, but ended up leaving with the Parisian. Very happy with my choice.

I have seen both these cars side by side in the shown room and the Parisian Gray was far more impressive (to me) and actually was my 2nd color of choice if I could not locate my Montecito Blue color. Just my 2 cents...

It's a personal preference - I felt exactly the opposite and went with Empire State Grey. To me it looks good in any lighting - but especially good in sunlight. A guy a few blocks away works for a dealer and has been cycling though Genesis colors for the last year. To me the Montecito Blue is flat/lackluster and the Parisian Grey looks too blue in non sunny lighting.

So - To the OP: See them all in different lighting and pick what YOU like!

I had the same thoughts but my dealer could not find the Empire grey in our area so I went with the Parisian. Wish I had waited for the Empire as the Parisian looks too much like primer in brighter light.

Gosh you know the funny thing is Wiesner Hyundai in Conroe, TX had these two colors right next to each other in the sunlight, and I thought of taking a picture just in case anyone wanted to know the difference. If I pass by there again I'll snap a photo.

You just put your finger on my impression of the Genny I saw on the highway. Dull gray primer. Granted, it was overcast and may not have been clean, but that was my impression.

As everyone has said, color is such a personal choice, it's whatever floats your boat, but do yourself a big favor and see the colors in person. Even if the paint chip is accurate, you need to see the whole car.

Looked at them all then made my choice. Black was the runner up.

I chose between those two colors also. Ended up buying the Empire State Gray. The grill and badging washed out too much in the lighter Parisan.

I have take the Parisian grey as this color change it self depending on light and angle

sometimes it gives me in light blue and some time it give me dark grey sometime it give me light grey and gives on silver some times either


that make hate this color sometimes and love it sometimes

urban grey change to 2 colors the purple and dark grey some times it gives on empire state grey depending on lights and angle


because of this confusing they didnt bring the empire state color to Saudi Arabia

A neighbor has the silver. Pretty, though not as gorgeous as my Empire State! :smug: Also read somewhere that ESG is going to be phased out. Too bad, it's a classy grownup finish.

empire state and the black is the only 2 colors that never change and never delusion you


the other colors gives you variable coloring like the brown it gives you black and gives you dark brown
