  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone in the South Florida area looking to check out the Hyundai Genesis should be able to see one on Okeechobee Boulevard very soon. I just called the local Hyundai dealership and they said "the truck is on it's way". I'll update this thread when I see them on the lot.. I wonder how true their statement is...

Are you going to drive it? :)

Absolutely. :)

Are you going to buy it? ;) and become the 2nd owner from this forum to have it.

Well, most of the states should be getting their shipments soon I hope so I can at least visit them and get a brochure for it, and I would LOVE to see them cruising on the street of New Jersey. I just want to see if they live up to all those hypes it was getting.

My wife is semi-interested. Semi because she doesn't know anything about it. She doesn't like to talk cars - so I can only throw in a few tid bits here and there.. I think she'll want it when she sees and drives it.. We'll have to see.. It would be replacing her 2007 Chrysler 300C - which she loves...

In our test drive today my wife drove first...she absolutely loved it. And this, after being wedded to her 528i for 10 yrs! And she hasn't even see the Tech Pack yet. She's already picked the colors. We're done!

Awesome! Looks like we might have our second owner here very soon! :)

I think I was the first to test drive the car in WPB. It was silver, they had to take it out of the showroom hours after they put it in. I ordered a sapphire blue with tech package... they called and told me it should arrive for delivery on Monday 7/28... can't wait to check out the tech package!!

So Napletons has one?! I'll be there tomorrow if they do...

I drove it 2 weeks ago... there is a shipment in-transit supposedly. Rick Case also had a couple. To check dealers inventory try www.autotrader.com and search new car inventory by zip code radius. You can get colors, figure out the options from the price maybe even VIN numbers. You can search out 300 miles or more...

Did you drive one at a Napletons? If so, than they're freaking crazy because outside of the dealership, there's no indication at all that the Genesis is there..

Tried this link out, and to my surprise it showed three tech packs 20 miles away. Soooo, on the phone to the dealer to confirm, and they aren't there. He explained what happens is the dealers get their allocation notice from Hyundai of what is coming 2-3 weeks before the truck shows up. They give this 'allocation' message [including VINs] to the IT guys who post it on the various web sites.

And surprisingly, a dealer 17 miles away [with stock] didn't show up in autotrader at all.

The Autotrader is hit and miss depending on whether the dealer pays to advertise with them or not. But it is better than my local Hyundai dealers website inventory search options!
You get spoiled with automakers whose websites have live inventory listings tied to the build your own feature, and displaying the window sticker...

I called 3 dealers to tell me when they got one in. I only got one call back.
Unfortunately the quality of today's salesmen leaves something to be desired.
When you only have one car it is kind of hard to launch a marketing campaign? Napleton's started out with a 5,000 premium upsell for pinstriping!

I think we consumers are more excited about the car than some of the dealers. Only the biggest dealers are getting the car first and they are on allocation so they will probably sell all they receive for a little while at least.

All of the dealers now have a "special programs" or "internet" sales person. They deal with the Costco, Sams and other buying programs. They are a cut above the rest, and because of computer literacy, seem to have pretty solid knowledge of what is actually onsite and what is "on the truck." They are use to not only phone, but email. When you call for info, ask for "the internet person." They will give you the straight scoop and keep you updated via email if you request.

That is who I ended up dealing with. I was driving to work when I got this email on my BB that the 1st Genesis had arrived the night before. I changed course to the showroom!

This appears to be a phased roll-out because of limited supply through the port. Hopefully each dealer will maintain stock of at least 5-10 cars within the next 90 days to give customers some selection.

I will be sure to laugh and let the Napletons salesperson know that not everybody is stupid enough to pay over MSRP. :p
