split screen?

So i noticed while i had navigation actively running guiding me to my destination that i somehow got the button to go split screen between driving directions and the map, but for life of me can't figure out how to recreate. Any guidance ?

Also - is there a way to get the screen to go split screen say between XSM and the Map ? or FM and Map ?

The first use case (split screen while on Nav between driving directions and Map) does work for me - and i am here in the States (Indiana).
I was really trying to reproduce how i made that happen...
And - asking if that split screen effect can be generally used for other functions of the head unit (SXM/FM/Map/Navi,etc..)

No split screen with other functions on the Ultimate head unit. It is possible on the smaller screen system in non-Ultimate models (which makes absolutely no sense!). I'll have to check on driving directions and map split screen.

Have your radio on with the fm or whatever display on the screen. Turn off the radio by pushing in the volume knob. It will go split screen. Now just turn the radio back on.

The Op has an Ultimate - what you show is not possible on the Ultimate units.

I have a 2015 non-Ultimate 5.0....and the above does work on that...

When i drove the Ultimate, i did not notice this feature

Ok - checked on mine and to get split screen of map and turn-by-turn guidance you:

- hit menu when in Nav map mode
- select "Settings" at the bottom of the list
- under "Map Mode" on the next screen, select "Show Turn List"

This will make your Nav screen look like this:

The only downside with the split screen is the scaling is auto only.

Or you can just touch the Triangle (navigation) symbol on the lower right corner of the screen to bring up the directions or close them.

That's even easier if it does the same thing (though I hate fingerprints on my screen )
