Did anyone use BoostUP matching for their down payment on a lease? I know it's not wise to put anything down when leasing, but if Hyundai matches $500, it's definitely worth it. Anyone?

I started to, but found my deal before the required 30 days having an account open. I see no downside if you are near purchasing but outside of 30 days.

In my opinion, it's a no brainer. If you are going to put your first payment down (+ taxes on the rebate), then you can count that as your $500. It'll buy down your payment by $15, so why not?

Why do you think there would be taxes on the $1000? It's not really a rebate or incentive. Also, the $1000 over 36 months would be closer to $27 off payment.

It's most states that require you to pay sales tax on rebates, not me. Actually, the $1,000 is both an incentive and rebate. You're right, a $1,000 is $27 and change over 36 months, but you've got your money factor to think about too. The general rule for leasing is $30 for every $1,000 you put down.

I used Boostup on my purchase. It reduced the price by $500 and the taxes on the $500. TX does not charge taxes on rebates.
