If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I realize it's completely subjective, but I'm curious of any pros/cons of black vs beige. I'm getting the 3.8 rwd signature package with black exterior, so the "shiny" wood will be there and regular leather. I've ruled out grey, so I'm looking at black or beige.

Black on black seems nice, and I had this in a Lexus a few years back. The issue I see is that the black leather seems more like charcoal grey. It also seems sort of monochromatic, since all of the trim is black as well. While the interior is nicely designed, it certainly isn't dramatic. I'm concerned that having everything be dark grey inside doesn't highlight the high quality of the interior.

With the beige, I like the contrast with the black trim, and I like the wood color. It seems to look "classier" to me as well. I have a black 2009 Altima with beige interior currently, though, and I am so sick of the interior. However, the Genesis looks way better inside and out, so kind of apples and oranges.

Sorry for rambling, but I'm going to be stuck inside this every day for the next 5+ years. So, thoughts and feelings from owners?

Thanks!

I have beige and I love it. obviously it shows dirt a little more but I love the look. I have never liked grey interior and black would be a nightmare with the hair I seem to track into the car from our dogs.

Is the Black/Ivory combo available with the signature package? I have the Ivory and think it looks great. It would really look striking with the Black exterior. I would stay away from black/beige because you will likely get sick of it in a hurry since your last car had the same color combo.

Black/ivory would be my first choice and black/gray second although I realize you don't like gray. Black/black is too common imho and it gets warm in a warm climate like yours (and mine). Good luck. You can't go wrong. This is my second G and I really like the 2nd generation of this car. I was not so thrilled with the first generation G.

Ivory isn't available with the trim/packages I am getting. You make a good point about the heat, though. Even with tinting and ventilated seats, I'm sure it will be quite hot with black inside.

I've owned a black, leather car once.

Once.

You may find that the Ivory leather only comes with the matte finish Black Ash wood trim....I preferred the Brown Ash so I went with the Beige lether in my black 3.8.
Enjoy!

The black ash wood trim is perfect for the ivory interior and helps highlight the black piping on the seats. It also is different than the normal wood trim on most cars, which starts to blend in to the space and becomes less noticeable as real wood.

I like the black leather and live in TX. With cooled seats, window tinting and a sunshade on the windshield, the exterior color will have much more of an effect on the interior temperature than the interior color.

Beige looks amazing, but I am so ready for a dark interior again. I hate being so careful with it. I have to baby it and that is getting old.

I think the lighter interiors look better....hands down. Just be prepared to do a little extra work.

I mean I'm already getting a black car (my 7th). I think the work for the tan interior won't be that bad! ;-)

Am I crazy for wanting the Ivory interior when I'll be driving two young kids around in the back seat? Perhaps, but I've just grown tired of black leather interiors and the scorching heat. Remote start w/ AC and ventilated seats would help, but ... ivory is still my first choice (beige not available in the exterior color I want).

No, just keep food and juices out of the car and get a good leather cleaner. I would do that with a dark interior also anyway.

Beige by far for me. It's cooler in more ways than one :D

I think the Ivory is probably the best for visual impact. Wishing I didn't chicken out on it.

I got grey...but it really actually dosen't look grey...like off white

The very BEST color is the one YOU like.......... :=)

When I bought my Caspian Black Genesis there were two identically equipped ones on the lot, the only difference being one had the grey interior and one had the beige. Looking at them side by side I opted for the beige. No regrets and I've had numerous compliments.
